We should have taken Kharg a long time ago.

They will dump it in the waters, environmental warfare. Much like Sadaam did in Kuwait when he polluted the atmosphere

Ignite the oil
Question for the oilfield baws. How much oil is needed in the strait to light it up like the cuyohaga river fire?

Take the coastal land and islands in the strait of Trump and Iran will be castrated metaphorically speaking.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Interesting, haven't heard anything about us bombing oil installations on Kharg Island before.Posted on 5/8/26 at 9:07 pm to TroutGuy
Strait just needed a little lubrication to seal that beautiful deal.

Can we just blow up the dust that they will not be giving up? Might be bad in the area, but not like a Chernobyl. They obviously don't care about the environment around them anyway. Not the same, but dumping oil isn't good either and they are willingly doing that.

In other words, if Israel had waited longer, then we also would have waited longer. Israel took the initiative. We had no choice other than to go along, i.e., we were forced.
The US had bombers in the air It was already planned and the only thing is minutes sooner

Friday update and recap:
BLOCKADE:
US disabled tankers Sea Star III and Sevda attempting to run the blockade. F/A-18 strike video on the Sevda is circulating. IRGC seized tanker Ocean Koi in the Gulf of Oman in retaliation... A US-sanctioned vessel (yes you read that right.)
70+ commercial vessels now interdicted, up from 52 earlier this week. Zero commercial traffic through the Strait for the second consecutive day. Roughly 20,000 seafarers remain stranded across the Gulf.
Trump described the latest naval incidents as a “love tap” and floated “Project Freedom Plus” with expanded targets if Iran keeps slow-walking.
DIPLOMATIC:
Qatar’s PM flew to Washington and met Vance at the White House. Qatar is now the active backchannel. Before the meeting he told al-Araby al-Jadeed there is a “high probability” the US and Iran will reach a deal.
Rubio said in Rome he expects Iran’s formal response to the US draft framework “today.”
Saudi Arabia confirmed to NPR it told the US it will not support Project Freedom operations and sent a message directly to Iran that the kingdom would not be involved.
Israel Channel 12 citing a senior US official: the military option returns if no deal before Trump returns from China. Israel is urging the US to shift to full 24-hour destruction of Iran’s energy infrastructure to force a deal.
Treasury announced new sanctions targeting 10 entities across China, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Belarus aiding Iran’s Shahed drone and ballistic missile programs.
BREAKING TONIGHT:
Satellite imagery confirms a massive oil slick near Kharg Island. 3,000+ barrels released, 20+ square miles, drifting south toward Saudi waters. Cause unclear. Storage overflow, deliberate dumping, or strike-related. Iranian state media silent.
Satellite imagery also shows 100+ IRGC speedboats in formation in the Strait. Larger than the 85+ formation seen earlier this week.
The 14-point MOU still has not been answered.
Trump said he is expecting Iran’s response “supposedly tonight.” If the deal does not get signed up and buttoned up soon, the U.S. will escalate to “Project Freedom Plus"

Israel suddenly is on high alert. Must have intercepted chatter about increasing Hezbollah attacks incoming.

NEW: Israel believes no deal will be made with Iran and has informed the US that any return to fighting must include the destruction of Iran's entire energy infrastructure in an estimated 24 hours. Several Arab countries hold the same position and support attacking the infrastructure, per Channel 12.
Israel is on maximum alert following the exchange of fire in the Strait of Hormuz.

Not sure how blowing up the power will kill the IRGC but I guess Israel and our allies know more than me.
Seems like that would just make life miserable for the citizens. Seems like that would just make the humanitarian crisis dire when millions of people have not drinking water.... which was already and issue in Tehran before the war started.

Several or the power generation facilities along the northern coast are those that supply missile fabrication plants.

All missile factories were destroyed though.
