Notable shipping movement in the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar is sending a laden LNG tanker (if sucesfull, it would be 1st crossing for Qatar since the start of the war).

Crucially, the Al Kharaitiyat tanker is following the new Iranian shipping lanes. Her destination is Pakistan

Transit Fees on undersea cables? That has to be a translation error. The only fee they can exert is the threat of cutting the cables.

Thats the cost of doing business. You either play this game to win or you dont.
Maximum pressure on the regime.
People lose their minds after 24 hours without power.
And at the end of the day the people there need to get cranked up enough to do something for themselves. Cut the power you accelerate the time line.

The workers they are kicking out are treated by the UAE about a half step above indenture servants. Worker safety is non existence. Their passports and travel documents are controlled by their employer.

Everyone in this region is largely deplorable. Little is good about the UAE. Other than their wealth.

Well with Islam... Expect Islamic character traits.

Just like we were expect to hear a response soon two weeks ago. Then a week ago, then 48 hours later, then Thursday, then Friday. Now it's "soon"

They are never going to agree with our demands. They will also never negotiate in good faith. The only resolution to this problem is to finish off the Islamic Republic and the IRGC. That is the only path to ending this for good.

People don't know or understand how dead things become with a true massive power outage. They truly don't know how much society relies on electrons flowing through conductive cabling and the hidden equipment those electrons keep operational. Sure people lived before without electricity in the past, but not in dense packed cities. Electricity allows the dense population. In addition, people and society were set up to live without electricity. Livestock was available as a power source. Ah hell, I'm tired. If we bomb all the power plants, millions die, and Trump knows this. Israel wants them all dead anyway, that's why they want power plants destroyed.

All true. It doesn't take much thought to understand how devastating a prolonged, widespread power outage would be in a modern country. Civilization would collapse in a short time period. I hope it doesn't come to that.

people have been living with out power for thousands of years and it worked out.

Those people were hunter / gatherers and farmers.

What do you think would happen if power went out long term for millions of city dwellers?

Russia has been bombing Ukraine's power grid for the last few years. They still have electricity throughout the country. Just asked AI about outages and got this response:

As of early May 2026 (around May 7-9), Ukraine has no nationwide planned or scheduled power outages for most regions, according to repeated updates from Ukrenergo (the national grid operator). Ukrenergo has stated no consumption restriction measures or hourly blackout schedules for multiple recent days (e.g., May 7, May 6, May 5, May 4, May 3, May 1).

Power grids are a lot more resilient than people give them credit for.

Iran finally responded..No deal.

quote:

UPDATE | Iran just put its three red lines on the US memo in writing. Foreign Ministry: "strongly rejected some terms." The lines: enrichment program is non-negotiable, no way they're shipping the 400kg of enriched uranium out of the country, and they keep control of the Strait of Hormuz.

All three sit right at the center of the MOU. But these three aren't the same thing. Hormuz is operational leverage Iran loses anyway the moment they give up control. Enrichment is a structural technical capability.

The uranium is the tangible piece, the one you can put your hands on. Also worth keeping in mind: Mojtaba Khamenei, the new Supreme Leader, is injured and hasn't shown up in public since the attack that killed his father. CNN says US intel thinks he's still calling the shots on strategy. So Iran is negotiating with a wounded leader nobody can see.

Which is why this isn't "Iran rejects deal." It's Iran pushing for concessions on the three hardest points while Trump says sign or glow.
