Reconstruction plans? This is unbelievable.

Say what? That better be from their own oil sales...

What happened to the America of the past where people were willing to make incredible sacrifices to advance human rights elsewhere?
We are no longer willing to spend our blood and treasure only to be criticized, exploited, and taken for granted by the rest of the world. That era is over.
Pax Americana belongs to the past. Whether people like it or not, Trump is attempting to establish a new order—one in which the United States is no longer the world’s patsy.
For decades, Americans carried much of the burden for global security, stability, and humanitarian causes. Going forward, other nations will have to shoulder more responsibility for defending their own interests and securing their own freedoms.
The United States will remain the most powerful nation on Earth, but it will exercise that power on its own terms, at times and places of its own choosing, in pursuit of American interests first.

Israel didn’t want this war to end. Just keep enforcing the blockade, what’s the big deal?

Will not be voting in this upcoming midterm. Trump needs to be impeached for negotiating with our enemies.
Dumb. I think Trump and company bungled this from the get go. Deal is garbage. And I’m still voting in the midterms and would vote Trump again in 2028 if he was on the ballot. There isn’t a choice. The alternative is horrific.

Jumping to conclusions before anything is official & time has passed is always smart

EXPECTED TERMS OF US-IRAN PEACE DEAL:
1. Extends ceasefire between US and Iran for 60 days
2. Begins 60-day negotiation period for technical discussions around Iran's nuclear program
3. Removes US Naval blockade and reopens Strait of Hormuz
4. US will commit to discuss sanctions relief with Iran
5. US will commit to discuss the release of frozen Iranian funds
6. Peace deal includes permanent end to fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon
7. Final agreement to be signed on June 19th in Switzerland
We expect to receive more detail on terms shortly.
What are the odds that this happens?

Were oil sanctions on them before the war started?

Disaster if those terms are accurate. Now, have to listen to Trump take a victory lap on an unenforceable agreement. Theyll dig deeper down, where our bombs can't go. Build their missiles and get right back to enrichment.
Theyll never allow nuclear uranium to leave Iran, and they sure won't be letting anybody in to take a look. Ever.

So we negotiated absolutely nothing

The main war is between the Iranian people and the Islamic occupation. That will never end until the regime falls.
I believe that was the understanding from the outset. Trump said the US bombing campaign would last 4 to 5 weeks. After that, if my memory is correct, both Trump and Netanyahu said it would be up to the Iranian people to oust the Islamic regime.

The very second our navy leaves the Iranian area, they'll be back to doing what they've always done and there will be zero ability to enforce or oversee any of their nuclear program. Massive L. Iran signs a worthless agreement that can't be enforced and now they'll be pumping out missiles and buying defense systems for the next year. Somewhere, deep down, I hope the civilians have access to firearms and go about regime change. If not, I feel sad for them. Sold a bill of goods, lost 40k+ in protests and now left with an even more aggressive IRGC. Brutal.
It’s the latest feather in the cap of wars the US loses because of pathetic strategy and no willpower to finish a job.
What’s wild is this war ends up with the enemy being stronger. I’m not sure that’s happened before in our Nation’s history.
Posted on 6/14/26 at 6:53 pm to Stidham8
I’m not so sure Iran is stronger. The IRGC is in charge now, so it’s moved away from being a theocracy. It’s possible that the hard line radicals will continue to be marginalized.

Worse. We did lose people oin the war and just before securing victory (yes we could have toppled the iRGC within a few more weeks) we for no apparent good reason bail out up 1000 to 1.
Broken promises to the Iranian people. We owed them nothing had we done nothing. But instead we promised help then pulled the rug out from under them leaving them worse off than before.
The Americans killed in Israel will get no justice and neither will the ones that died in this war for nothing. And anyone that thinks we got anything are sadly mistaken.
