You do realize that in almost every phase of this conflict, Iran has rushed out to claim something only to be proven wrong a few hours later, don’t you?
Same could be said of anything out of the US side of this one.

Thats a terrible deal if true. Trump basically chickened out, galvanized the lunatics and then made them stronger.
Could have done something truly amazing, but he shite the bed.

Wrong. We said the Supreme Leader was dead and he was in fact dead. Iran tried to deny it for the first 6 hours. Iran has said that we agreed to let them charge tolls every time the ceasefire was extended and yet we agreed to no such thing.

The very second our navy leaves the Iranian area, they'll be back to doing what they've always done and there will be zero ability to enforce or oversee any of their nuclear program.
Massive L. Iran signs a worthless agreement that can't be enforced and now they'll be pumping out missiles and buying defense systems for the next year.
Somewhere, deep down, I hope the civilians have access to firearms and go about regime change.
If not, I feel sad for them. Sold a bill of goods, lost 40k+ in protests and now left with an even more aggressive IRGC.
Brutal.

The Conflict with Iran is over. Be happy. Its done and over.
Time for gas prices to drop and the GOP to win the midterms.
If Iran doesnt comply with the deal, its not difficult to bring back the US military and bomb the hell out of them again until they comply.
Some of you idiots think that Trump isnt going to follow through on whatever was agreed. We are watching Iran.

I hope this war opens up some seriously needed introspection for how we project power in the 21st century.
What seemed to work.
Economic sanctions, seizing assets, shipping blockades. This seemed to put some real pressure on Iran based on every demand revolving around a release of seized assets. If we want to continue projecting power in the 21st century we need to keep the world wedded to an American-centric banking system. This makes crypto and non dollar backed trade a major threat to our power.
What didn’t seem to work
Shock and awe bombing or military and/or civilian targets. Drone warfare has totally changed the game and in some regards leveled the playing field. Nations like Ukraine and Iran can now target assets far beyond their borders on a shoestring budget and with minimal built infrastructure needed to support it. Drones, submarines and missiles for nuclear deterrence, stealth bombers for large precision strikes, and about 50,000 marines for rapid and short term deployment. People may not want to hear this, but our army and much of our navy is a very expensive 20th relic without a 21st century purpose.
What didn’t seem to work part 2
Largely going it alone. You need allies that share a clear mission focus. If you don’t have allies keep your forces home.

Agree with everything you said. Our foreign policy has got to get smarter.

You nailed it. Will not be voting in this upcoming midterm. Trump needs to be impeached for negotiating with our enemies.

I bet you voted for him 3x right?

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that congress allows him to remobilize troops once they depart the region. Once midterms pass he’s on an island of his own for the remaining two years.

We never bombed their energy sites. Israel did it once and Trump got so mad. They would have been begging if we had bombed them

Iranian Mehr News Agency has published the supposed 14 clauses of the MOU
$12 billion of Iran's frozen funds to be released before negotiations begin, with another $12 billion during the 60-day final negotiation window.
Oil and petrochemical sanctions suspended.
Full naval blockade lifted within 30 days.
The U.S. commits to non-interference in Iranian affairs, withdrawal of forces from around Iran, and no new sanctions or force deployments during negotiations.
An immediate ceasefire is required on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The Strait of Hormuz reopens within 30 days under Iranian arrangements.
Iran reaffirms its NPT commitment not to produce nuclear weapons.
A 60-day window is set to negotiate a final deal covering nuclear issues and full sanctions removal.
The U.S. and allies must also present reconstruction plans worth at least $300 billion.
Iran's missile program and support for resistance groups are removed from the agenda entirely.
No final negotiations begin until the $12 billion is released, oil sanctions are suspended, and the blockade is lifted.
A supervisory mechanism will oversee implementation, with any final agreement approved by UN Security Council resolution.
