Removal of the blockade is stupid. You keep that in place until you have your actual deal in place. WTF Trump...

I feel bad for Iranians

Fat overweight Americans prioritize cheaper gas over human rights

What happened to the America of the past where people were willing to make incredible sacrifices to advance human rights elsewhere?

Yep. His whole handling of this thing since the ceasefire started has been maddening.

This is another fine mess we have gotten ourselves into

Final Solution Ought to Be: Bring every element of American military presence abroad, home - attend to our hemisphere/side of the globe and let the rest loot, maim and pillage - that which they do best

Monies saved are to be re-directd toward our newfound practice of isolationism...

Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.

We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.

With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.

We destroyed huge sections of the Iowa and plains economy with our grain embargo in response to Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Farmers were fine with it because it was for a noble cause

Hot takes will abound in the immediate aftermath of the announcement today

It’ll be interesting to see how many are right as time passes.

That is total and complete bullshite.
I was a stockbroker at the time and had a lot of accounts with farmers. They were not remotely happy.

Iran says draft US deal includes oil sanctions waiver, nuclear limits and asset release: LINK

Congrats on ripping up the Obama deal in Trump 1 and proceeding to give them a better deal in Trump 2 after spending a bunch of military equipment and costing a few American lives.

You do realize that in almost every phase of this conflict, Iran has rushed out to claim something only to be proven wrong a few hours later, don’t you?

If this is true, we caved

NUCLEAR:
* Tehran agrees that it will neither produce nor acquire nuclear weapons.
* Pending a final agreement, Iran would maintain ?the current status of its nuclear programme, refraining from further ?uranium enrichment ?and expansion of nuclear facilities.
* The United States agrees to allow Iran to dilute its stockpile of highly enriched uranium on Iranian soil under a future comprehensive ?agreement.
* Iran’s ?nuclear programme, uranium enrichment activities and mechanisms ?for handling its stockpile of highly enriched uranium would be negotiated within 60 days of the memorandum ?and addressed in a final agreement.
