They describe the event without mentioning he was tackled, hit on the head with a skateboard and assaulted by a guy with a pistol who tried to take the gun away.

Why are you hung up on that? It hasn't been determined either way, but there are stills and video that show something burning. I posted one for you earlier and you didn't respond.
