Atheist, pre-heartbeat abortion supporter here. This is disgusting, cruel, and a large part why I generally vote right leaning despite not being a traditional conservative. I would rather outlaw this practice and have more strict abortion laws than go this way.
Humans are not like most animals in that we complete much more brain development in the womb than many other mammals. This would be akin to pulling a week old bunny out of its burrow to watch it die which I think anyone could agree is cruel to do.
When fighting this I implore you to reach out to others like me where we don't agree with the life at conception that you do because we don't have your religious views but we do believe in responsibility and the value of all life not just humans.
While I would call myself pro-choice I believe a choice has the defining trait of responsibility otherwise it is just a whim. If you are going to be sexually active then you must take proper responsibility for that and use BC, Condoms, pair with responsible partners, and take action to identify potential pregnancy early. I generally am ok with pre-heartbeat abortions because it seems like a clear sign of life that has little gray area but beyond that we have a responsibility to foster and protect life.

News articles have been a little vague when you try to get into the weeds on this one. To my understanding the way the bill WAS WRITTEN and subsequently passed, a woman 9 months pregnant who is healthy herself as well as her baby, could wake up on her due date decide "no I don't want a baby" find a doctor who says sure, no problem and have her baby aborted instead of born? This is just evil. I hope I'm wrong. Again, don't care about the odds, rarity, etc. Is this how the bill was written?

I share your frustration. I know that when I die and I undergo my particular judgement I will not have to admit that I remained silent in the face of this abortion genocide. I tried to stop the holocaust, as I have shared on occasion on this forum.
All of these demographic problems we're seeing today, the illegal immigration, the broken families producing legions of angry young men and women can be traced back to the deliberate systematic destruction of the traditional family. Abortion is a terrible consequence of that destruction.
FACT - when a country loses its moral compass, and turns against God, He allows her enemies to destroy her. I'm not giving up on my country quite yet, I do see signs of genuine conversion, especially in our youth. God can be swayed from His decision to destroy a country as evidenced by Abraham's pleading with God to hold off on his decision to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah. Unfortunately, God could only find four souls in S&G worthy of saving - Lot, his wife and two daughters. And Lot's wife disobeyed God. A sad heartbreaking ordeal for Lot.
Regarding your comment regarding God reserving judgement, I must constantly remind myself - salvation is never assured. We must work everyday to root out evil in our lives. Even the Jews had to learn that the hard way. They crucified the Messiah, only to see Jerusalem and the magnificent Temple reduced to rubble during the Roman Siege of 70AD. I read the account of the siege by the historian Josephus. Some disturbing reading.
I'll say it - I fear the invasion of Islam going on in this country is a prelude to something really terrible happening in this country. Or maybe it's just a warning - I certainly hope so.
God is certainly merciful and kind, but he is also just and those millions of aborted babies cry out to God for justice.
Pray, fast, and make sacrifices. Then form minds, and try to convince people to repent.
