At this point its like a pro wrestling match. Russia is beating the shat out of some hapless soul (ukranians), Trump is standing over them telling Russia to stop beating him and telling the poor hapless fella to tap out......while the hapless fella looks in the corner at his midget manager (zelensky) who is yelling at him to not give up....while he steals the poor hapless fella's purse money.

Eh. Don't really blame him if he skips. He's pretty much the most wanted man in the western world. Wouldn't surprise me if there's an attempt on his life if he personally goes.

Perfect summary. The Zelensky lovers like Kiwitard and powerbottom are just very very low iq posters

Both idiots in Turkey, at the same time?
Lite the fuse.
Lite the fuse.

Well here is, again, the bottom line here. Russia has Ukraine over a barrel if there are no actual EU troops that will enter Ukraine and help.
Full stop.
If the terms are to relinquish the land currently in Russian possession and not join NATO… his presence isn’t even needed.

Now its official Putin skips peace talks in Istanbul....

There has to be some mechanism to prevent any peace deal from becoming just a pause and hostilities starting again in a few years once Russia consolidates and reorginizes in lost military eq/manpower.
I don't think that's likely because Russia will have what they wanted; no NATO membership for Ukraine and Russian control of Crimea and the adjacent territory. But, there is a mechanism for Europe and Ukraine to prevent recurrence in a few years. They should build up their own militaries and manpower to use in future wars that involve Ukraine. If they truly feel threatened, a strong military is a good deterrent.

Incorrect. The US will decide who joins NATO. No one else.

Or it continues til he has no country. Its pretty simple.
This is where your logic breaks down. In the absence of some guarantee of sovereignty for the remainder of Ukraine there is a will to continue fighting, and the coalition with the will is easily strong enough to keep Russia at bay. It includes the Trump Administration.
Ukraine is not the only combatant in awful shape, so is Russia, which is being forced further into an emasculating alliance with China. There will be guarantees is my prediction.

I don’t think that’s all Russia wants. I mean Putin has said it numerous times and Trump has repeated it as well, even recently, they want all of Ukraine. All this other NATO stuff, Ukraine killing Russian people in mass, etc. is just an excuse and propaganda, so Russia can carry out what Russia wants, which is absorbing and getting all of Ukraine back under its sphere. It’s really not that hard to fathom. That’s why Putin isn’t attending these peace talks, keeps bluffing, and etc, because he’s trying to buy time. Vladimir Putin wants this and is ok with all of this, and that is just not acceptable in today’s world, by anyone.
So no, if all of Ukraine isn’t back under the influence of Russia, this thing will only start back up again later on down the road. And it’ll probably be even worse and more consequential the second time around.

The problem for Ukraine is, as bad as things are now, Lavrov is absolutely correct. The longer this goes, the smaller Ukraine gets. Zelenskyy's fit-pitching diatribes and invectives tossed at Putin do Ukraine absolutely no good.

Putin lies, news at 11.
Zelensky is full of it as well.
Why the hell are we involved?
We all work our arse off to provide for our families and our government sends billions to a country that 99% of Americans could not locate on a map.

Here’s my theory:
Trump has kowtowed to Putin and rolled out the red carpet for him since he was inaugurated. He’s given him every excuse to come to the table.
Now that Putin has refused to even show up to the summit, Trump will use this as an excuse to start letting Ukraine use US weapons to strike into Moscow. I think this would be completely justified at this point.
Besides, we now have a pretty big economic interest in Ukraine so we aren’t going anywhere for the next 75 years.

No shite - larger armies have the advantage over smaller armies. But taking this attitude doesn’t make the world a safer place.
Nuclear power countries have bigger threats to make then non nuclear powers.
The US and Russia convinced Ukraine to give up their nukes in exchange for promise of sovereignty.
Now the message is - forget about promises, get your nukes or you will become a target.

Putin on Sunday proposed direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul and Zelenskiy had said he would be waiting for the Kremlin leader.
Direct negotiations, doesn't mean president to president. Did we do that with China over trade this weekend?
And why are supporting the cia's little b*tch?
