“Riots and civil insurrections” aren’t covered by a typical rider. That’s extra.

So the angry lesbian is wrong yet again.

Don’t you just love the arrogant, confident ignorance dripping all over that tweet?

Every single business and personal property stakeholder needs to sue the city, county, and state for intentional infliction of property damage and emotional distress for not just failing to provide, but knowingly and willfully allowing, if not promoting, losses by issuing orders to NOT intervene.

It is through government intervention in the duties of agents of the local, county, state to allow said official employees to perform their duties, that losses occurred.

Current case law says that police aren’t required to respond to anything.

That may change if it gets to SCOTUS, such as if the business owner who shot and killed a rioter in Minny complains that the cops didn’t do their job yet he got arrested for protecting himself.

What about fire dept.? They cannot respond in a civil insurrection without police protection so they were prevented from doing their duties by the stand downs and thus individuals and corporations suffered losses.

The media still believes in The Broken Window economic theory. If you destroy things it creates jobs for those who fix it and thus causes economic growth.

Good question. Not a lawyer, so i don’t know case law, but that sounds like a valid argument.

I’m sure there are cases from Watts, Detroit, LA proper, etc, related to this.

Hey Sally! Guess what. Your rates just went up because your insurance company just had to pay BILLIONS to cover the losses caused by your beloved "peaceful demonstrators."

Will be interesting to see how the whole broken window crime theory plays out which is precisely the opposite

A place that's in shambles like Minneapolis will likely invite crime in as opposed to a more manicured space for lack of a better word.

Yeah, they're gonna have to clean up fast when things calm down. If they let areas just sit there in shambles it will be a problem.
