and its successor, Operation Enduring Welcome

A program to relocate Afghans who worked alongside U.S. service members during two decades of war is being targeted by the White House for shutdown by the fall. No more funding for Operation Enduring Welcome was allotted in President Donald Trump’s fiscal year 2026 budget proposal released Friday. Advocacy groups fear that hundreds of thousands of Afghans awaiting resettlement in the U.S. could be shut out if the program is defunded.

The State Department has relocated more than 190,000 Afghans to the U.S. in the last four years under Enduring Welcome, according to the White House’s budget proposal. The White House’s proposed budget will head to Congress, which will hold committee hearings to hash out a final budget to be voted on later this year. Some lawmakers, like New Jersey Democrat Cory Booker, have pushed back against the moves to shut down the program.

quote:

The program to grant parole and settlement to Afghans has stretched across multiple agencies. In May 2024, the Department of Homeland Security largely concurred with its inspector general’s report, which found gaps in its ability to monitor parole expiration and remove those with derogatory information in their backgrounds. In May, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem terminated temporary protected status for more than 8,000 Afghan nationals already in the U.S., including some who assisted the U.S. in the war. Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., sent a letter calling Noem’s decision a “historic betrayal of promises made” that undermines the values Americans fought for in Afghanistan.

Absolutely insane. Having spent a lot of time in Afghanistan I can say it is the most immoral and disgusting nation outside of the Horn of Africa I saw.

None of these people can be truly “vetted.” Lots of sleeper cells and ticking time bombs. None of them belong in our country.

The Biden Administration is the largest traitorous group in the history of the US since its inception.

Just frick off clown.

Biden watched people fall from a C-17 wheel well because your hero was too stupid to renegotiate a deal.
Now go back to fapping over your big win.

No they weren’t. There were never 200,000 interpreters.
Anyway, you wanted them in the country, no matter what anyone thought or cried about.
So laugh at yourself.

I look forward to the civil war.

One of them Afghans shot two National Guardsmen.....so far one has died from from her wounds.

We don't execute Islamic terrorist, we stick'um in jail for fear of offending our so-called muslim ally pals. If there is such a thing as a trustworthy muslim ally.

Words of wisdom - you sleep with a poisonous snake, eventually that poisonous snake will bite you.

Vetting a foreigner in a war zone to determine if he will fight a common enemy is vastly different than vetting a foreigner to see if he is suitable to live in our country.

Yet under Biden tens of thousands of Afghans were brought to America using the war zone vetting standard.

This is why the DC attack happened. The solution is rounding up everyone Biden let in & deporting them immediately.

A great argument for non interventionism.

The next great wave will probably be Venezuelans.

I was one of those people because I wanted a couple of our translators I worked with safely away, but I certainly didn’t advocate for a couple hundred thousand refugees
