She will still be paid and will probably still write, but will be uncredited on the show.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from responsibility. She and her colleagues probably learned their lesson.

Oddly enough, I still won't watch SNL because the writing is bad and unfunny.

In trump's America, it's libs that get fired for social media wrongthink and have to grovel for forgiveness to no avail. Feels good.

The difference is that it will probably have no lasting impact, unfortunately. Hating on trump is the only real acceptable position to take in her field so there will be a lot of sympathizers ready to take her in for her bravery.

I can promise this decision came from NBC corporate, not SNL or NBC Entertainment.

She's probably considered a martyr.

Yikes. The picture in the NYT article must have been from 15 years ago.

Wrong. She has been told to go sit in the corner for 15 minutes and promise to be good.

Nice start, BUT not good enough. She should be fired, not simply suspended.

She was not fired. She was suspended. She will be back when the shitstorm blows over because SNL could care less about what she did only they way it makes them look.

She will be back in a month or two you can bet your sweet arse.

Yes, and most people won't care because it isn't a big deal.

On Monday afternoon, Ms. Rich reactivated her account and posted a message that said: “I sincerely apologize for the insensitive tweet. I deeply regret my actions & offensive words. It was inexcusable & I’m so sorry.”

This is a lie. She's not sorry. She was told to be sorry but she's not.
