In 1981, I witnessed a black HS golfer be denied entrance at the Caldwell Parish CC. The shite hit the fan but they never backed down.

We sometimes forget it wasn't that long ago in a lot of rural backwater towns.

The only people who were holding blacks back from doing any of these activities were other blacks. Can’t be caught “acting white” and doing “white” things

A black co-worker once asked me: 'Why do white people spend money on testing to see if they can avoid dying...like mountain climbing and sky diving?'
Me: 'I have no idea.'

How is this possible when Trump has been President twice since 2016?

what barrier did he break? Again, how can there be a barrier if someone chooses not to participate in an activity. While racism wasn't extinct, its a hell of a lot more likely that blacks simply didn't want to play what they perceived to be a "white" sport.

Blacks (and every other minority) have had ample opportunities to participate in every sport/hobby imaginable. If they choose not to, that's on them.
The reason I don't play basketball, dominos, or break dance isn't because of racism. Its cause I don't want to.

Probably from not having other people within their social circles who partake in those hobbies. And high cost barrier to entry between equipment, lessons and/or obtaining certifications.

Plus there's probably some level of social stigma in black communities with the younger crowd where kids don't try to get into it because they're afraid their friends will make fun of them for playing a nerdy old white guy sport.

But racism is the boogeyman that's easy to blame for everything.

We were just informed that being black is a disability... so that must be what's holding them back.

None of that shite was inaccessible.

They just chose to not do them.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the lack of swimming ability probably had a lot to do with black folks not scuba diving. Don’t hold me to it though.

Scuba, Skydiving, and Golf….

Well, I for one am very proud of the ocean, the sky, and the grass for the strides they have made in recent years.

Blacks are just realizing they can play golf? Hey Tiger! Why did you not tell them about your little secret? So many more black kids could have taken up the sport.

It’s a small small place but Caldwell Country club didn’t allow black players as recently as 1991

My favorite is “hiking.” No explanation of the absurdity necessary.

“Not culturally traditional pursuits in black communities”.

This likely accounts for 99.9% of it but you know NBCPravda has to stick some Narrative in there as the leading, primary reason.

It’s impossible for the actual existing supply of racism in this country to meet the insatiable demand for it by the Left.

Anyway, glad those folks are finally enjoying some different pursuits. Under the DJT admin no less.

What a horribly ineffective Fascist that guy is.
