That is such a touching story. I had a similar encounter recently. Me, my wife, and my wife’s daughter were in Nashville for the Taylor Swift concert. While my wife was at the concert I took her daughter to a local Magic group. She said my Gandalf the White card was weird. It took a minute to click how impactful that observation was, and the tears gently streamed down my face as I squeezed her hand and said “yes dear, you’re absolutely right”

Can someone make a Spider-Man circular firing squad meme with “Keep Portland [Austin etc) Weird” bumper sticker. JD Vance is weird, so don’t vote for him. And Bootyjuice isn’t weird yet breastfed his child with a prosthetic.
No cognitive dissonance here at all.
