The Jerry Sandusky Scandal. Or, a textbook case on how government agencies go out of their way to protect themselves and deflect blame. It was a political hit job period. Penn State’s president at the time wrote a book about it and there’s a lot of info out there.

The real story is much more fascinating and includes:

- the lead prosecutor being disbarred for conduct during the grand jury
- Penn State’s General Counsel turned State Witness being disbarred
- a little known full Federal Investigation done at the behest of the CIA that showed no crimes occurred at PSU involving PSU Administrators. (PSU’s President was the lead SME for the FBI, NSA, and CIA for academic and research espionage at US Universities)
- The first time ever the AG was not elected for a 2nd term in 2012, the winner ran on the platform of investigating how the AG office handled the Sandusky Case
- the investigation turned up that most of the judges, and prosecutors in the AOG office routinely traded PRON on their state email addresses and computers
- the new AG was impeached and disbarred for leaking the PRON investigation details
- The governor at the time was a former AG who took a massive political loss months before the scandal hit when PSU’s President led the protest against his education cuts in the state budget.

FACTS REGARDING SANDUSKY
-Jerry Sandusky founded a charity for at risk youths in Central PA
- Charity eventually grew to be the largest provider of youth social services (foster care, etc) in central PA
- Per PA law, charity was under the direct supervision of PA Office of Attorney General
- Sandusky met ALL of his victims through his Charity
- when he was with children from his charity, he was under the direction
of the Charity (chain of command)
- the Charity was a favorite Charity for many high level PA politicians

FACTS REGARDING THE BOY IN THE SHOWER
- McQueary reported it to his father and his father’s friend who is a Pediatrician that same night
- they advised him to tell Paterno
- the Pediatrician at Sandusky’s trial testified that McQueary didn’t tell him anything that would have triggered an automatic report.
- the Office of the Attorney General admitted to McQueary that they made up the fact that McQueary saw An@% S#$.
- The Boy in the shower WAS known, and had gone on the record a couple of times in early 2012 that nothing happened other than them snapping towels at each other
- The Boy in the Shower was hidden by his attorney in June of 2012 to avoid being called as a defense witness for Sandusky
- Sandusky was found NOT GUILTY of the charges related to the boy in the shower
- reconstruction of the timeline showed McQueary waited a few weeks to tell Paterno
- By now, Sandusky had been retired for a couple of years
- Paterno got the AD involved
- The AD told the Director of the Charity (Sandusky’s Boss) what happened and Sandusky was not to bring kids around PSU

I'm old enough to remember when they were only after Confederate symbols.
