Before the age of 10 we had shotguns and hunted the woods aroung our home. Sometimes traveling more than a few miles on a good day. No cell phone. We had bikes and road for miles to reach our friends. This is beyond stupid.

And both parents working with no idea what shenanigans we were up to over the summer days.

I remember when I was maybe 11 or 12 I was shopping with my mom getting clothes for the start of the new school year. I got smart with my mom because I didn't like the clothes she made me get. I waited till I got to the car and was mouthing off and she told me that if I popped off one more time she would leave me in the parking lot and make me walk home. I didn't believe her so I said whatever. She left me standing there and took off.
She came back a couple of minutes later and I was like I knew she wouldn't leave me, she pulled up and said take off those new shoes I just bought you , I took them off and slung them in the back seat. She took off and I walked about 3 miles back home in my socks. Lol I never smarted off to her again for a long time.

And, that's how we learn.

More evidence of GA turning into a shithole. Would love to see what judge signed that warrant.

We were at Disneyland. My wife took the boy back to the hotel and I took the girls to California Adventure. My phone died. And, all I could think was, "well, I guess we'll catch up with mom tonight."
Not gonna lie, I would have panicked.

It was a controlled panic after I borrowed a phone and she didn't answer

Kid looks normal, mom's smokin', I'm sure there's some petty jealousy to go along with this story, somewhere.

I had an afternoon paper route starting when I was 11 in the summer after 5th grade (1976). On Sunday, it was a morning paper and I started at 4:00 am because I had to make several trips to lug the bigger papers. I rode my bicycle all over our small town for three years until I bought a motorcycle at 14. Never had a problem. I would not have let my children do that at the same age in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s.

That’s great.
I grew up in BR but only because of DOW chemical. My roots are as country as they come. And we spent a lot of time at family’s in the sticks and friend’s farm Woodville MS. Lots of time on Thompson’s Creek.
My boys are growing up in the woods. They’re only barely 6 and 4 so I’m a little more protective (today I was a little freaked out by them wagon bombing down our steel curvy driveway that cuts through woods on either side. But they’ll be roaming soon.
Oh and our days as kids in BR were much different than now. The area from Starring through camp BeauxBois (spell), Bluebonnet Swamp and all the way down Highland Road was all wilderness. And we’d ride from south BR to Cortana mall on our bikes.

Why? It builds character.
I was working construction 80-90 hours a week over summer breaks for $5 bucks an hour from 8th grade to my senior year.
A 4 AM Sunday paper route for 3 years is tough. Why would you not let your kids benefit from that life experience as well

These cops needs to be fired and stripped of qualified immunity. There was absolutely no legal basis for an arrest and I hope she takes every cent they have no matter how little it may be. Disgusting tatted up POS tyrants.

You should have seen the arrest video. She was on a work call, taking care of the home, and wearing yoga pants. She's clearly holding it together.
I have to think she fricked the DA or the Magistrates BF in HS

Let me guess... The arrested woman is Caucasian?

I don't think that is the case.
Cops dropped him off with her. She told him not to walk off without calling again.
Cops came back with a warrant. They have to execute their duty. Even if they don't agree. Something is amiss though

If it were a purple woman, it would be the same.
What are you getting at?

How many of us were sent to walk to the store in bum frick, wherever we lived to pick up something for mom or grandma at a way younger age? I was doing it for my mom at barely 8 years old and had to cross 2 railroad tracks and a water canal to get to the local grocery store..
I guess the circumstances were a little different in that this kid was missing, but we were always missing when I was young. Our parents rarely knew where we were, just had an ideal who our friends were and where they lived and knew we stayed within a few blocks of our house..
