I've said it a thousand times, having a trans kid is merely a fashion accessory for the liberal white celebrity and affluent women in the 2020s like a teacup dog was 20 years ago.

Health care providers were taught to never support a person's delusions.
Now they say that a guy who thinks he's a girl, our a girl that thinks he's a guy is not a delusion.
Treating the gender dysphoria is not treating the underlying mental illness. It's causing other issues of is own.
And you still have the mental illness that started the whole thing...

This is what happens when parents affirm every stupid whim their kids come up with. You want to dress like a cat and go to school, shite in litter boxes, dress like a girl, because you're ugly as shite and no one from the opposite sex likes you? Instead of saying clean yourself up dummy, get in shape, stop acting like a serial killer, dress in normal clothes, they affirm isolating behavior.
They get 23 years old and see everyone has lied to them their whole life, the kid is worthless, bitter, angry, mutilated their body.
And after they kill kids and themselves NPR asks.....why?

If it’s not considered a mental illness, then you don’t receive mental health treatment for it. JHC.

Really. Anything a child does that gets massive parental support can have the effect of making the child afraid to stop if they change their mind.
Good parents have to deal with this hurdle on things like sports all the time. But you can only deal with it if you aren't fricking congratulating yourself for being so open minded

I think you are right about this. Some have allowed the official narrative around Trans acceptance to distract them from the broader issues with mental illness - especially in children. We're constantly told that trans people are "totally normal" and the medical establishment now agrees, therefore we don't look deeper into the depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, anti-social behavior, or violent tendencies that ALWAYS seem to accompany Trans cases. Trans lifestyles are just another symptom (or perhaps a coping mechanism) of a larger, deeper spectrum of mental illness.
The interesting thing about this case is, contrary to approved narratives, child affirmation and transition did nothing to ease this kid's mental and emotional distress -- perhaps it made things even worse since he suddenly decided to act on old violent impulses.

His mental issues pre-date, and supersede, the trans stuff.
Nothing prevented psychological care for the REAL problem

The current "gender is a social construct" fad absolutely slaps people with actual dysphoria in the face.
There are legit transexuals, but they dont choose it and they are pretty damn rare.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. It seemed the mother may have been convinced that affirming him as trans would be, in part, therapeutic. Boy was she wrong.
