Met an Employee from the UK Today

Kid is mid 20's and here in Alabama for training. He was amazed that everyone carried a pocket knife (we are a construction service company). We began discussing the differences between the UK and here. It basically seems that they are living in a police state.
So I challenged him to this: find me something that you can do legally in the UK that I can't do here in the states.
We came up with an extensive list of things he couldn't do, but not one that we couldn't.

To be fair, it’s hard to find a good hand-pulled bitter here.

Not bad actually. He wasn't hard to understand either. He's Welsh. The Scottish people I speak with are impossible to understand. I get them to send me emails instead or calling.

You can't fart in the UK without a CCTV camera seeing it.
Yet they can't, or won't, stop Terrorists from carving up the Public.

Our freedoms are in jeopardy though from an apathetic or misguided public. Attacks on freedom of speech, press, religion, etc. Always backing the blue even if that means supporting their outright theft of us and trampling over our privacy and other rights.
Yes we have more freedom than they have over there but we should never stop fighting to keep it that way.

Paul Joseph Watson gives some pretty good insight on his YouTube channel of the ridiculous things that the UK does. Mostly stuff involving suppressing free speech.

Such things are part and parcel of living in a big city run by a Muslim.

We have constitutional freedoms that they can’t conceive of because they are conditioned from birth into a police state.
Basically this. We are different from them in many ways. There is a large portion of this country that aligns more with the European values than American values. It has been that way since the start of this country. It will always be that way. It has been and will continue to be a continuous battle for freedom fighters.

Coversation likely never even happened because any British person would have told you they could drink at 18. That man is not British or that conversation never happened.

We also like to pound our chests about freedoms that we really don't have. Our rights are under attack by tyrants on both sides, and is often accepted by an ignorant, if not willfully ignorant public.
I got into a little spat of FB recently with one of my dad's old friends. He is a retired police officer, and posted in opposition to a group I'm in in Arkansas, about Constitutional carry. he posts about how he is retired LE, and completely supports background checks, and is incredulous that I don't.
I tell him that unless these background checks are processed through a judge, they violate several rights in the Bill of Rights, and are therefore unconstitutional. He huffed and puffed about his experience, and I told him the Constitution trumps his experience, or anything else.
The dude lives in California, and has his rights usurped every day, but is in full support of shitting on the Constitution, when he thinks it made his job easier.
This man has made me realize that no matter how much you support the police, you have to know that it is those same police that are easily the most likely violators of your Constitutional rights.
