Mega church pastor says: Penalizing Women for Abortion Is Not Pro-Life

He's taking some heat from other pastors, but he's also gotten some support. I think it's a measured, reasonable attitude for pro-life people to take.

“As Christians we need to remember we are called to not only protect the unborn but also to walk with women through their struggle,” Graham writes. “In fact, we fail if we do not care for the mother and meet her at her point of need.”
A pregnancy center at Graham’s church has “prevented tens of thousands of abortions” since 1991, the pastor says, and during those years “we have never met a woman…who deserved to be criminally convicted of homicide.” Instead, he says, the women are often “alone, distressed and confused,” considering abortion only because “they don’t have resources or they feel pressured to do it.”

So outlaw abortion and continue to provide resources for women in need.

I don’t think anyone wants to prosecute the women. It’s better to prosecute the doctors.

Women aren’t going to be charged under Bama’s new law. Straw man.

Shaming used to work but we don't do that anymore.

This is sad, but unfortunately more true than it should be

A lot of people do GAF and have been told for a long time even by members of their own party to be quiet and let it go. Now they are emboldened again. Elections have consequences

I don't want to pay for unwanted babies. Feel free to stand in front of PP and tell would-be mother's you will foot the bill and pay to house their spawn.

The Alabama law nor the Georgia law penalize women
It says so explicitly
(a) A person commits the offense of criminal abortion when, in violation of Code Section 16-12-141 , he or she administers any medicine, drugs, or other substance whatever to any woman or when he or she uses any instrument or other means whatever upon any woman with intent to produce a miscarriage or abortion.
The heartbeat bill did not repeal a number of Alabama criminal statutes that explicitly apply to abortions and unborn children, and it does not overrule controlling legal authority holding that these statutes bar prosecution of a woman for terminating her own pregnancy.

I agree with Dr. Graham on this. His church isn't that far away from where I live and I go there from time to time.
They sponsor not one, but two centers: they took over one in South Dallas which was in financial stress but was only a few miles away from Planned Parenthood's main DFW baby-killing facility. Plus they operate a mobile ultrasound truck that goes into the minority areas of DFW on a regular basis.

We are at a point of medical technology where abortion by prescription is available in the first trimester.
Unless you are prepared to violate doctor/patient privilege there is damn near no way for the state to enforce abortion laws around these. They would be done in complete secrecy with no evidence.
Pregnant people will be able to this on a widespread basis, virtually undetected law or no law.
With this in mind, it seems like the left views abortion not as a right to exercise but a weapon to cut men out of the reproductive process. A sort of reparation against men for what feminist view as centuries of oppression by men.

What percentage of abortions do you think that is?

I guess Cain should’ve used the defense.
