It was inevitable that something was going to happen. Tremendously disappointed that what happened made the protestor look sympathetic

I understand completely what you are saying. I do pray this episode is investigated independently to prove the guy was not eliminated because he brought a gun to a protest.
The quick government personnel messaging that followed regarding "who brings a gun and ammunition to a protest" is what really bothers me. It is a very coordinated response by many of them from separate areas.

They made St George of Fentanyl look sympathetic... he had three funerals, a golden casket and politicians kneeling...
it doesn’t matter WHO it is, between the left and the media it will *always* be a sympathetic "victim"... an "austere scholar", if you will.

bullshite. It was clearly a terrible decision by multiple agents. Awful for MAGA and the response from Trump and his team is almost worse.
JFC. frick you and that dumb frick nerd that got himself shot.

Carrying to a protest that has the potential to be explosive is not a good idea. Almost all of the J6 protesters did not carry a firearm to that rally, even though the crowd was hugely pro-2A and gun ownerships was probably close to 100% in that crowd.

This is just an attempt to shift the focus off of democrats. An idiot decided to fight law enforcement and got shot. That's the story.
Even if the shooting was "improper," I really don't care. If a robber slips on a wet floor and breaks his neck, should he be allowed to sue the restaurant he broke into? No, of course not. And it's the same situation here. Everything that happened stemmed from the moron's illegal actions. His illegal actions started the chain of events, so he is responsible for what happened.
Democrats would love for conservatives to shift the narrative to the administration's words instead of the commie's actions. Let's focus on what is important - the shithead democrats who started the problem and exacerbated it. Don't be easily distracted from the real story.

The “activist” initially only tried to assist a female protester to get to her feet…
He was then pushed and sprayed with
chemicals by ICE…

In the last few days I've read paste eaters on this board be against the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Amendments, and claim the NRA is a left wing organization.
You can't make this shite up.

If you're bringing a firearm to a protest it's likely for one of two reasons:
1. You are expecting to be aggressive with it by actively threatening others with it or actually using it to harm or kill others.
2. You are expecting to need to use it to defend yourself and/or others.
Taking that into account, if you are showing up at an anti-ICE protest with a firearm then you are expecting to either shoot ICE agents because you don't like that they are doing their job or you expect ICE agents to unlawfully attack you. Either stance is pure dumbassery setting the stage for violence and tragedy.

I’m not suggesting that our 2nd Amendment rights give us the authority to confront federal agents performing legitimate law enforcement duties. In fact, I acknowledge that, in the chaos of the situation, the agent who shot Pretti may have believed he was reaching for his weapon.
Additionally, if Pretti’s pistol discharged accidentally, it’s very plausible that the shooting will be ruled justified. Yet all that is a separate debate on whether Pretti had the right to carry a firearm in the first place.
The important fact here is that Pretti was legally armed. And that is ALL that truly matters in terms of his possession of the handgun.

This spin that Republicans are anti-Second Amendment because an ANTFIA militant decided to resist arrest while armed is such utter and complete bullshite.

This ignores the existence of non-LEO threats, like conservative counter protestors and rallies, which do exist in MN.

Massie’s comment addresses a broader issue than this specific event. The key point is that the right to carry a firearm is a fundamental right, as guaranteed by the Second Amendment.
This isn’t just a minor detail — it’s a cornerstone belief of conservatism. Anyone who claims to be a true supporter of the Constitution ought to be on board with that, instead of playing political games to twist the meaning of the Second Amendment.
Noem needs to shut her fly trap. It is an embarrassment to see any so called ‘conservative” defend her comments.

Stop perpetuating this bullshite. He did NOTHING to interfere with ICE. He was attending to the woman they pushed to the pavement.

Hey, dipshit, tell us what he did to interfere with ICE? He was attending to a woman they pushed to the pavement. He did not initiate.
When you go to bed tonight, you should thank God that the Constitution doesn't prohibit stupid asswipes like you from owning a gun.

And while some have said that he wasn't "legally carrying" because he did not have his ID...in MN, the penalty for not having your ID is a $25 dollar fine...which you get back later when you produce your permit and ID. In other words, a penalty similar to what you might get if you're pulled over driving to your parents' house and you forgot your wallet at home. To suggest that somehow that makes him "illegal" is fricking retarded and dishonest.
