New research has found that individuals who frequently use social media and perceive immigrants as threats are more likely to harbor negative emotions toward them. The study, published in Frontiers in Psychology, indicates that these effects are stronger among those with lower cognitive abilities. In contrast, individuals with higher cognitive abilities were less prone to these negative attitudes, suggesting that cognitive ability may offer some protection against emotionally charged narratives on social media.

Lol. I dislike the immigrants, we don’t need them, and diversity is ruining our country.

You have to make a distinction between compassion for individual human beings and RIGHTFULLY demanding the border is enforced. That’s just ethical living. Personally, I think things are going to get very hairy for illegal immigrants in the near future. There is an anti immigrant sentiment brewing. My neighbor lady gave me a glimpse of it this week. It’s just under the surface. And our government INTENTIONALLY created it.

Low cognitive ability intensifies one’s inability to read bad, ideology-driven epidemiology and realize that “studies” can be designed and results cherry-picked to say pretty much anything.

0 points.

When I saw this, it made me laugh out loud. I also know there are legions of posters here who subscribe to the fear of immigrants so I posted it to see their reactions.

Are you upset that you clicked on a thread you don’t like? Maybe don’t do that next time to avoid the discomfort.

Common sense is knowing that Haitians are eating raw pets in the street. Right.

Who pays for “new studies”?

This crap is tiresomely predictable, but if it makes you feel better about your idiotic ideology, good for you…I guess.
