When it comes to abortion and health, maybe so. But states should also want to do things correctly regardless of political party in charge. Many states did things in an effort to hurt Trump politically.

Hey nc tiger. I’m guessing ...
Especially when you do it so poorly.
In this instance you assumed, incorrectly, the state I'm residing in. You assumed connections to a government program, for which I'd never remotely qualify. You absurdly assumed my affinity to an administration headed by a man I've referred to as Potatobrain for the past 5-6yrs.
But most surprisingly, you used those mistaken assumptions to work yourself up into such an emotional frenzy as to address a person, whom you don't know from Adam, as a "piece of SHT."
Presumably, it was not your finest moment?

Re: CV19 case fatality rate (CFR).

The stated mortality over all of this when you look at all the data including China is about 3%. However, I believe this is a gross overestimate because there are undoubtedly many people who have minimal or no disease that are not counted. Thus, the real CFR is probably more like 0.2–0.3% rather than 2.0%, making it more akin to a bad influenza.

What do you think Trump should have done during Covid?
Not agreed with the ridiculous “two weeks to slow the spread” bullshite
Not pay people to sit at home and not work
Not shutdown the supply chain
Not gleefully enabled people to not have to pay mortgages, rent, car payments, credit card payments, student loans, etc
Not helped to facilitate injecting two Trillion plus into the economy
We are still suffering today from those decisions. We couldn’t have handled this worse. Let the immunocompromised and elderly stay at home why younger healthy people keep running the economy and supply chain etc.
We destroyed our country over the flu or in some cases a chest cold. This is the mortality rate that we shut the country down over:
0–17 years< 0.01%
18–29 years~ 0.01%
30–49 years~ 0.05%
50–64 years~ 0.5%
It was idiotic and yes Trump as President deserves some of the blame.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Watching y'all turn summersaults to try to absolve yourselves from the evil that was done in 2020 is stomach turning but not surprising in the least
Watching once revered professions do irreparable harm to scores of innocent people all to hurt one man was sickening as is watching those of you who openly followed them down this path is now trying to place the blame elsewhere
God is watching

Trump as President deserves some of the blame.
He was politically battered from 3yrs of Muller, then by impeachment, then by the CDC catastrophe which inexcusably opened the country to a full-on epidemic.
With no available test kits, and a disease capable of asymptomatic spread, the medical advice Trump was fed held that the only way to break an explosive spread of the disease would be to go to a nationwide quarantine. Against his better judgment, Trump consented. As you say, that was a mistake.
When the first 15-day shut down did not seem to make a difference in rate of spread, he agreed to a second one. it was a second mistake. When Fauci and Birx asked for continuing shutdowns, Trump finally went with his instincts, and said "no."
But by then, blue state governors and the blue media, realized the chaos they could sew by keeping things shutdown, and they did.

Stop being a fricking retard. Trump didn't shut down Louisiana. Edwards did.
Shame the leader of the federal gov’t and the free world didn’t do anything to stop them from doing so……. Or, maybe he didn’t because it was part of the plan?

If Trump knew the shutdown/Fauci approach was bullshite a year before in April 2020, why did he let the country suffer?
It’s more complicated than your question acknowledges. Fauci and company convinced the electorate, who trusted them, that covid was more dangerous than it was, than Fauci knew it was. Trump had to be reelected, and that means bowing to the popular will, which was what Fauci brainwashed into being.

Stop with the excuses. Trump was in charge. When you are in charge and things go wrong be it your own doing, or trusting the wrong people, appointing the wrong people etc. the buck stops with The Commander in Chief. Muller is irrelevant to Covid. Has nothing to do with it. Impeachment has nothing to do with Covid. None.
This was the mortality rate for working age Americans:
quote:
0–17 years< 0.01%
18–29 years~ 0.01%
30–49 years~ 0.05%
50–64 years~ 0.5%
We are still suffering to this day over those minuscule numbers and some (not all) were because of direct decisions Trump and his Administration made.
I am not shitting on Trump here as you posted he did finally realize he was being hoodwinked and made some tough decisions but it was too late by that point. Blaming 'governors' for Trump's failures during all of 2020 doesn't make sense. Not all of the decisions Trump made during 2020 were bad but there absolutely were several destructive bad decisions made and he is who gets the blame.

Stop with the excuses.... Muller is irrelevant to Covid
Second, no nitwit, Muller isn't irrelevant. Nor was the impeachment BS. Politics played a huge role in the decisions going down during Covid, on both sides of the aisle. Dems and the MSM had done their dirtiest to undercut Trump's political capital.
So given the CDC catastrophe which, under your Commander-in-Chief premise, was Trump's fault as well, he had no political wiggle room at all. The MSM zombie mantra was "trust the experts," and the MSM carried Fauci on their shoulders as the experts' expert.
Trump saying, "Nope, I'm going to ignore what the MSM is lauding as the greatest medical mind since Hippocrates," would have been political suicide.

You can't use Muller, Russia, or Impeachment to blame for Trump and his Administrations many failures during Covid. Do you think it is possible some of Trump's own actions from January of 2016 to January of 2020 hurt his own political capital?

"Two weeks to slow the spread" was the beginning of the end for Trump regardless. You can spin this anyway you want to feel better but the buck stops with Trump himself and who he listened to, appointed, believed. Leaders lead int times of uncertainty. Trump failed. Period.
Disclaimer: I am not blaming everything on Trump he certainly made some right decisions but the wrong ones are the ones people remember.

Why was Biden the president that relaxed masking rules in April 2021 and then dropped the TSA / travel requirements in April 2022? If Trump knew the shutdown/Fauci approach was bullshite a year before in April 2020, why did he let the country suffer?
Neither Joe Biden or Trump is why New Orleans had a vaccine mandate.
Stop being a fricking retard. Trump didn't shut down Louisiana. Edwards did.
This. The only thing Trump did was at the beginning of the emergency and reports of people dropping dead all across America was lock everything down for two weeks to slow the spread, which I'm sure he did on the advice of "experts." . After that it was individual states, municipalities, and business owners that mandated everything from lockdowns, 6ft. of separation, mask mandates, vaxx mandates/vaxx proof etc etc etc., until Biden got into the White House. As for Biden later relaxing those things, that was after the hindsight of a year or two following the initial scare/boom of the pandemic when no one really knew for sure what was going on (March-May 2020). All there was was fear porn in the news about how morgues were packed, hospitals had to have additioal freezer storage for dead people etc etc etc. Almost no one, who was not Fauci, the NIH, or the Wuhan Institute of Virology, knew much if anything about what exactly COVID was at that time. It was an unprecedented situation.
But sure... muh Trump's fault!
Posted on 7/29/26 at 2:46 pm to PorkSammich
So, did Trump "shut Louisiana down?" Show us the federal order where Trump shut Louisiana down, other than the initial two weeks at the beginning of the boom in COVID cases and deaths in the U.S.?
