So Landry is pro choice and for gun control?

He did not imply that. He was responding to the statement that the alternative was baby killing Democrat by pointing out that JBE was not, nor was he for gun control.

Trial lawyers are our states biggest problem and Landry is one of them. We need the USA AG to weed out corruption at the state level

You're missing the point. Landry's ineptitude and childish behaviors is going to get a dickward liberal elected the next election.

It baffles me that anyone thought Landry was a good choice for Governor. By far the worst Republican that ran for Governor last year.

He is much better on crime than JBE. He has started the process of fixing the tax code he is against DEI. His LED Secretary is excellent so much better than JBE.

In your opinion what are the top 3 horrible things that he has done or not done?

Yep. frick him. Caved to special interests at the expense of the middle class and poor.

Had the chance to do something transformative, and instead did something awful.

The topic is about Landry being a horrible governor. That implies a comparison. If the comparison is JBE then Landry is a terrific governor.

He lost a few crucial battles on tax reform, but he is going to get a lot of what he wanted.

And to be clear, Nelson did most of the thinking on this plan. Though the governor did most of the pushing.

It needed to be Nelson's plan or nothing. The horse trading made things only marginally better in terms of business climate, but it made Louisiana a more expensive place to live for people.

LOL, tell us how you really feel!

I am still sifting through what passed, but a few gems stand out. The elimination of the franchise tax is huge. The constitutional amend helps put the inventory tax in a posture to be reduced.

The sales tax increase for a income tax decrease? meh, I need to see some more numbers.

This is not what they originally proposed, but that was very ambitious.

What really grinds me is to keep the film credits you raised sales taxes, and cut the corporate rate by less than you wanted.

As someone who makes their living in the film industry the credit wasn't worth keeping. Every engagement I have taken in the last 6 months has been a production based out of Canada or Australia.

It wasn't worth raising sales taxes and punishing the poor to keep that industry around.

If I did the math right if your household income is under 135,000 and you spend more than 27,000, you got a tax increase.

Question - could JBE run again, ala sitting out a term like EWE?

Reason I ask: I think if he ran again, he would beat Landry in 2027.

This is a genuine question. If JBE could run again, I believe he would defeat Jeff Landry. He gets 100% of the dem vote and I think Jeff has irritated enough of his base to lose some of them as well... at least enough to probably not bother to vote.

The current tax increase on the table is going to be his undoing. That in the lack of effort to positively impact auto liability premiums in general liability, premiums via tort reform.
