Yay police state. Landry is so damn dumb.
Only DC had a higher murder rate than LA and MS.

He’s positioning himself for a cabinet position with Vance. Now I’m
Not saying the guard will do some damn good things cleaning up our streets but landry is always the first the go along with trumps agenda (as he should) but now I’m starting to think the reason is bc his next political move is to get a high level cabinet position with Vance once his term is up

Has it yet occurred to him that he doesn't need the president to deploy the Louisiana National Guard within his own state?
I’m positive it has. As others have pointed out, this is just a performance and show of fealty to Trump.

Yes. Bring them to Baton Rouge please.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but... I think this has to do with pay and retirement credits for NG members if they're called up for federal reasons.

Can they investigate corruption too?
Nah…he ain’t gonna ask for that. Too many allies involved.

If he requests from FEDs they will pay for it so it is a good move. There are a fair amount of National Guard members who are currently policemen or have police training We need all the help we can get. My guess is they will play largely a support role which will allow more police on the street

Take Jackson and parts of the MS Delta out of Mississippi's statistics and we're firmly middle to upper middle of the pack in most societal statistical categories.
You're being disingenuous at best, and being a full of shite liar at worst.

Who is committing this crime?
Posted on 9/30/25 at 9:49 am to Swamp Angel
Landry will be a sucessfull Governor if he gets crime under control in NOLA, BR and Shreveport. It has been the biggest issue for Louisiana the last decade and no one has done anything to make it better.

A place where criminals belong.
Probably for longer periods of time than we've been keeping them.
We should bring back hard labor and chain gangs.
Make it unpleasant.
Bring back prisoners making big rocks into little rocks.

This won’t do anything though. It’s purely political theater to make low-IQ boomers happy
People watch too many movies. Louisiana has one military police company I believe. So like 100 guys? The rest are infantry, armor, engineers that won't have a clue. These are mainly 18 year olds trained to shoot bad guys or build bases.

No it’s not though. The second this temporary measure is discontinued, the numbers go right back to where they were.
Now, reallocating resources to increase state troopers numbers and involvement is a great idea that someone mentioned, and getting rid of these activist DA’s and judges is the other aspect that needs to be fixed.
The appeal to Trump is nothing but theatre/bread and circuses for low iq dolts around the state and country so that Landry can get a national position next cycle.

I'd love to see how exactly this works in BR...what, they going to set up shop in north Baton Rouge off Plank?
The lines at Tony's will be even worse!

I wonder the same. It seems like in DC it's mostly all foot patrols. BR isn't really set up for that.

Going forward, Trump needs to expand the federal marshal service to form a surge squad to spearhead these anti-crime efforts. The surge squad, local police and the NG if needed would be highly effective.
