If I was advising the Dems and fully allowed to give my "No Bad Idea Brainstorms", it would be this.
1. Stop getting dragged down on 90/10 issues. Tell the trans people that you're with them and you understand, but they're gonna have to excel in the space they're given. No more special laws or carve-outs other than what's on the books because while they're important - this is fringe. And the GOP is going to beat the Dems brains out with it and it's too costly. If the trans people don't understand, then they can frick off.
2. The border has to remain closed. Focus on improving realistic paths to citizenship.

Here's a "no bad idea": uphold the law instead of trying to play linguistic gymnastics with it to tear down society.
Uphold immigration policy. Stop abusing children by allowing doctors to mutilate their genitals based on social gaslighting, etc.

Wow, she finally figured out how to charm those elusive swing voters. All of those fringe ideas are massively popular with rank-and-file working folks who've abandoned the dems. 
It's like they're trying to lose.
