I'm not disputing the fact that an illegal can vote. I was simply saying the OPs thread title is completely wrong. Yes, I would love to require ID and would obviously eliminate the need to audit after the fact. An yes, democrats are against this EO for a reason other than disenfranchising a group.

Why don't we apply this to other areas. You need a driver's licence to operate a vehicle on public streets, but the police can't ask for proof that you have a driver's license. I can see the appeal of a system like that, for people who don't have a driver's license. It's a damn shame that our judiciary has become too corrupted to care that everyone sees their corruption.
