Are you actually equating abstaining from participation in the national anthem at a ballgame in which the audience and other team are indeed participating to not saying it every morning when brushing your teeth?
No. I'm just pointing out how stupid your sentiment is. Because we live in America, no one in the crowd has to participate in singing, standing, or saluting the national anthem. I participate in the anthem at every game I attend.

LSU sticks to their pregame routine and does not. That, in no way, disrespects America.

It was just a timing mistake by LSU. They did not intentionally miss the anthem. They went back the the locker room after pregame warmup. They stand for the anthem at every game. They just missed this one by accident.

they are never on the floor for the anthem, just like the football team is not on the field.

tons of things to be pissed about in todays world, this isnt one of them.

Let's break this down.
quote:

Need each venue to use a cell phone blocker to start just prior to and after NA. Then need any TV station covering game to not cover NA.

You are not allowed to make a statement or protest in America (a country who prides itself on freedom of expression) during the national anthem.
quote:

This gives no one ability to make a statement.

No one made a statement.
quote:

Some say they respect the rights of people to protest during NA. frick that shite. Every time you give the commie leftists an inch they are going to take a mile. Give them nothing.

Very anti "commie leftist" of you to directly controdict the bill of rights and all core values the country was founded upon.
quote:

I gave 20 years of my life for this country and seen how shitty it is in other countries.

I thank you and respect you for that, but this has nothing to do with a women's college basketball game.
quote:

It should be required you stand at attention if in the immediate venue. Don’t want to then wait outside. I have no wiggle room for traitors, it’s 1.5 minutes of your day.

You are a traitor if you don't stand at attention during a country's national anthem. Very anti "commie-leftist" of you.

The funniest part of this whole thing is LSU literally did nothing in the form of protest. They just got ready for their game. Their coach is a registered republican who shares the same values as 99% of this board. Somehow the end result is they are commie-leftist anti american traitors Gotta love this board.

My father served 30 years. Me and mine stand for the National Anthem.

People should want to be present for the National Anthem.

People should want to stand for the National Anthem.

But legally compelling people to be present and stand for the National Anthem seems to fly in the face of traditional notions of freedom in America.

And if people don't feel it, compelling them under threat of law will not make them feel it.

In any event, a law compelling attendance for the National Anthem would be unconstitutional under well-settled Supreme Court jurisprudence.

[quote]Two time first team all american, unanimous all american, national champion, and NCAA tourney MOP is an awfully long 15 minutes. Crazy that she "believed her own hype" with those minuscule accomplishments. [/quote

Its women's basketball. 99% of Americans couldnt pick Angel Reese out of a random
lineup or Caitlin Clark for that matter

What's the point in forcing them to be in attendance if they will just pull a Kaepernick?

and if they do, which is their right, they will pay the price for their anti-Americanism through lost nil money and be publicly disgraced when they cant hide their hate for america

Well said. This seems like a slap in the face to freedom of speech. It's a good virtue signal for his base, though.

It shouldn’t be. The LSU football team nor the visiting team is ever on the field for the playing for the anthem.
In the 70’s, my high school football team didn’t come out until after the anthem was played. I remember this because I recall my dad telling me that when he played in the 50’s, the teams were lined up for kickoff and standing at attention with right hands on hearts and helmets at their sides during the anthem. He said he would get a lump in his throat every time.

Is this really an issue?

Jeff Landry found a red meat issue to complain about, instead of actually trying to fix the problems our state has.

And most of this board, like Pavlovian Dogs, eats it right up.

Clark and Reese are the most recognizable college basketball players in America. That includes men.47% of the population (not sports fans) recognized Clark and 18% recognized Reese. I enjoy Men's basketball more than Women's basketball. Reese has deals with SI, Calvin Klein, Outback Steakhouse, Reebok, jansport, Playstation, and Amazon.

You can insult the sport all you want, I don't really care. But you sound stupid when you say things like no one knows who these people are.

Everyone has been trying to frick with the LSU women’s team since last year when they beat SCe and Iowa for the title.

No one likes it when the unchosen team wins it all.

I can promise you this.

The way to instill more patriotism in this country is NOT by forcing it.

This.

You are either pro-freedom or not. That encompasses speech, religion, press etc.
