Have you spent any time in either of these towns? Outside the historic districts, they are just as terrible

How’s the real estate market in Jackson? May look at buying a home there.

I laughed.

Whether you were serious or spitting a really good joke, I laughed either way. Without elaboration, I'll assume a joke and laugh with you as opposed to laughing AT you.

So basically the MS State AG should be consulted by the City Council. The dude can't just make shite up and think there is no remedy for the state to control him. This is far from the first rogue mayor.

1. This is where I was going with this. There has to be an active State office responsible for determinations of Ethical problems such as this.

2. Is there a League of Municipalities function in MS? They are a huge help

3. Usually there are state senators or representative who have a long standing experience with ethical breaches like this.

4. Federal court can take such cases. This would come from the office in 1 above.

There sure is a lot of lawlessness in black elected officials that are located in minority majority jurisdictions for some reason.

I am astounded at the brazenness of some of these 'elected' public servants.

Except AG opinions have no force of law and the Mayor has already said he won't follow such opinions since he doesn't have to (unless it suits his purposes).

This shite is why Ketanji whatsherface is so dangerous if put on SCOTUS: this crowd essentially believes in rule of the strongman as long as it's THEIR strongman. There are no real rights other than what the Supreme Generalisimo decrees that day, and there is no law other than what the President for Life says it is. Guys like this mayor are essentially building little Zimbabwe's in our cities.

If true in this market, then Jackson is truly dead. MS as a whole actually. The casinos on the GC must be the only thing propping it up at this point.

Apparently this genre of mayor has many similarities, one of which they do not suffer bullying.

The rare times I have to drive through Jackson, I floor it. Don't want to be in that shithole any longer than I have to.

Baton Rouge is almost there. New Orleans pretty much is.

All of this.

New Orleans is the primo shithole. My son went on a trip there last summer and got the pleasant experience of seeing a man taking a shite in a milk crate under an overpass.

If you want the full chronological back and forth on this, you can go to Jackson Jambalaya and the Kingfish has it back to the beginning or there abouts. Look for "Trash Talk"
