That’s not how regime change works. This idea that we are going to frick off back home after bombing the govt to the depths of hell is pure fantasy. We aren’t leaving the door open for China to get its influential foot in the door in what is essentially the rebirth of a nation.

If you believe the intelligence (unknown because Trump did not share with congress before) then Iran was preparing to build a bomb “within days” to strike Israel. That would undoubtedly be a long war.
Wasn’t this the reason why we “successfully” bombed their bunkers 4-5 months ago?

The mobilization is to defend their borders not for an offensive.

Thank you. Iran is our baby now, and this will be worse than Iraq, one way or another.

lol no. They’re for Lebanon
Israel is simply being realistic and practical; Hezbollah, Hamas etc are going to try to get in some shots.

I can only assume they dig out the fissile material and were using other centrifuges to construct the bomb. The phrase “within days” was used several times by the WH several times over the past several weeks in the lead up to the strikes.

They don't have enough, nor or their logistics capabilities suited for any occupation activities beyond going into a neighboring country like Lebanon.
US has those capabilities but Israel would end up strangling itself. You're talking about a very big country in Iran with people who may not be overly friendly to Israelis. They don't have the resources for that.

Will train and arm the populace to defend their country by emphasizing that every Iranian citizen has to serve in their new Republic’s army on a rotating basis defending its borders.

How do they get troops there? Doesn’t that require crossing Saudi airspace?
Well I guess they can cross Syria and Iraq. They don’t have the air assets to stop them. Jordan will probably give them access.

Bigger country, more resources, more ties to terrorist groups and worse - ties to China. China moved into Bagram the day after we left.
Iran is our problem now. If we don't keep our hand over it, China will.

Finish what we started. Israel can’t do this themselves and it is unwise to have assassinated the Ayatollah if we’re not committed. We knew from the beginning this would not be possible with an air campaign alone. That’s never been done, and it definitely isn’t possible with a country the size of Iran and with their terrain.

The Saudis are cooperating on this deal. I don't think Israel is calling up 100,000 reservists simply to shore up their borders. They already have 50,000 along the borders. I believe some of these people will be headed to Iran. How do they get there? Not sure, but we have a lot of planes in the area already.
