The US needs to have people there, but it doesn't have to be dozens of squadron. Just eliminating terrorist cells and making sure that the appropriate people are taking over. It doesn't have to be a dozen years either.

The IDF is deploying these forces to bolster readiness across all major fronts, with specific tasks assigned to different commands: 
• Northern Front (Syria and Lebanon): This is the primary area of focus. Reservists are reinforcing the Golan Heights and the borders with Lebanon and Syria to defend against potential ground incursions or rocket fire from regional proxies.

First, we're not shipping in the 18th Airborne Corps, or the III armored corps. If we do anything it will be targeted raids a la Venezuela (not that there are many IRGC leaders left to capture). You're not smart enough to understand what we can do, and how we can do it. You do understand what Green Berets are for, right? This is exactly their job, and they did it well in Afghanistan.
