Is this socialist revolution real, or is it an illusion?

It is starting in left leaning cities like New York and Seattle. Right now these cities seem to be the only place the socialists are thriving politically. (Yeah, there are a few bright blue states, but they are the outliers.)
I read a Megan McArdle column this morning (love her) and she pointed out that while cities are where all the socialist energy is, they are the hardest place to actually implement socialism, because the money can simply leave and go somewhere else. So all the promises of free this and free that are not kept, because there is no money to pay for the free shite.
When socialists start to get traction in state and national races (and they will), what then? Do moderate Democrats stick with them or jump ship? I find all of this fascinating.

We purposely imported tens of millions of "voters" that will help the demon party vote this in.
Also, "socialism" is step 1 of the radical islam takeover playbook that Democrats are all in for now.
So, yes, it is real and will be a standard of the democrat party going forward.

It's always been real. Progressivism is progressive by nature but not all things that they espouse as progressive is actually beneficial.
It gets weeded out. They're always going to seem like they're on the way up but conservatism provides a very good set of natural checks and balances.
Over the last 25 years or so they have way overplayed their hand and they can only move so quickly now.

DNC has no real leadership and it has lost its “mission” so to speak. The lunatic fringe have seized a lever of power for the time and maybe a few more in the coming years. The DNC will either find its way again or it will be steered into the rocks by the lunatics who take charge of the asylum.

You can only be everything to everyone for so long. Eventually all your priorities conflict with each other. Hence “Trump Bad”, billionaires bad, fight oligarchy”. They have to focus externally, look inward and the house of cards falls apart.

I actually think these are the last gasps of the current DNC before it moves dramatically moderate. These radicals catching seats in state elections is not the trend. These local candidates are providing validation for liberals by essentially saying “you are right, AND MORE”. Yay!!!

They are figuring out ways around this. Like NY, they give the city a huge bailout from the state so Mamdani can claim he did all this stuff and his budget is fine etc. I already see posts like this on the internet.
