The U.S. and Iran could reportedly sign a peace deal as soon as Sunday, after Iranian state media said the draft deal included a commitment from the U.S. to lift oil sanctions and a commitment from Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days.

The 14-point document dictates that final negotiations will not begin until the release of half of Iran’s frozen funds, the suspension of Iran’s oil sanctions, and the lifting of the naval blockade, the Mehr News Agency reported.

All American forces would need to withdraw from Iran, and the U.S. and its allies, would need to present reconstruction plans for Iran worth at least $300 billion, according to the report.

A peace deal could be signed in Switzerland as soon as Sunday, Bloomberg reported later on Friday, citing people familiar with the plans. It comes as world leaders gather for the G7 summit, which runs from June 15 to June 17 in Evian, in the French Alps.

The time and place of the meeting, are “media speculations” and an official announcement will be made as soon as the state reaches a final conclusion, Iran’s official news agency IRNA said, citing a foreign ministry spokesperson.

CNBC has reached out to the White House for comment.

Peace deal hopes
President Donald Trump on Thursday had claimed that the U.S. “just made a great settlement of the war with Iran,” subject to the “finalization of documents.”

He said in the Oval Office that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened as soon as a deal is signed.

Israel has yet to comment on the latest draft memorandum of understanding shared by Iranian state media on Friday.

Trump said Thursday that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other regional leaders about the potential memorandum or understanding with Iran.

Netanyahu’s office confirmed the conversation later Thursday. It said in a statement that, although Israel is not part of the negotiation with Iran, the prime minister appreciated Trump’s “commitment that the final agreement at the conclusion of the negotiations” will include various restrictions on Iran’s nuclear capabilities and other behaviors.

Because of our expected lifestyle and greed in this country especially by the real poors, we can't conduct a war or negotiate a peace properly.

There might be 5% of Americans who give a frick about this country whereas the rest are always thinking about themselves only.

Iran needs to be bombed to complete submission resulting in a 100% unconditional surrender but we don't have the will to come close to that.

Go back to JCPOA and augment. Remove sunset clauses, shutter Isfahan, include snap inspections at ALL facilities, and continue strict monitoring sensors all facilities including military (whatever is left of them).

I'm losing track of whether this thing is open or not open.

How hard could it be to blow the living hell out of everything that looks like a military target in the vicinity of the straits? We have munitions that blow up mountains, Tell them we're bringing ships through and anything that pops up on radar will get to find out that Allah is a fake god and you don't get to screw kids in haven.

By the looks of the “deal” the unconditional surrender is on our part.

Don't like that at all.
They'll be getting oil revenues plus assets being unfrozen. They can use that to rebuild.

We will see if anything comes from this. I know IRAN's media is playing the Baghdad Bob angle, but doesn't sound like anything is really agreed upon.

Saw multiple stories earlier stating this deal that is being touted doesn't include anything nuclear and those discussions come at a later time. If true, basically at the same stage that we were 6 weeks ago

It's Iranian BS again.

Glass their asses and their goats too.

Iran has been publicly touting that we agreed to their 14 point plan. Crickets from our side. Hmmm.

This would be a total failure on Trumps part if this is the final deal.

BREAKING: Iran now also rejects Trump's claim that "we have a deal in which Iran won't have nuclear weapon," saying the current draft keeps the nuclear program completely untouched with no new commitments regarding not building a nuclear bomb, enrichment or uranium handover to the US, per IRNA.

The draft also requires the US to pressure Israel to completely end the war in Lebanon, release $24 billion of frozen funds, pay Iran $300 billion as an "investment fund" for war reparations, lift the US naval blockade, release all sanctions, and accept Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz. These are Iran's conditions for the US to accept, only then will Iran sign the agreement.

At this point my read is that Trump realized he was spoiling Elon’s IPO and had to do something for the news cycle today.
