My brother is a car salesman. He says that they always come in a group trying to get some $300/month lease on a EV claiming their friend got a similar deal at another dealer. He tries to run them off the minute that he sees them, but they usually end up wasting hours of his time, then get indignant when he won't sell or lease them a car at a massive loss.

Maybe foreigners think we smell funny but we're just used to it. I don't know. But I know curry smells like musty, unwashed clothes.

I have a side business selling on eBay, WalMart, and Amazon. I ship about 500 orders per month and my return rate is on par for online shopping of around 10-12%. I don't do FBA so we are actually shipping from my warehouse. I noticed a while back that about 75% of the time when I get a fraudulent return, I look up the name, and it is obviously Indian.

Had one on eBay return a postcard with the eBay return tracking number to try and get around the package delivery requirement so he could tell eBay he shipped the product. His excuse was that the very expensive electric doorknob he installed was now stuck in his door and couldn't be taken out.

I can block scammers on eBay but not Amazon. Thankfully, Amazon is siding with sellers a little more than they used to when sellers charge restocking fees or refuse to refund.

It’s funny to read this thread but put yourself in 1910 and replace Indian with Irish or Italian

use to have this fight all the time on staffing projects, we could use the Indian team even a high level senior manager for like 15 bucks an hour or our interns at like 40. I fought all the time that our interns once properly trained demolished their experienced sr managers.

Just to be clear here--you're comparing a couple of 2nd generation, born in the US, people of Indian descent to your experiences with Hyderabad or wherever your B4 set up shop?

The Irish were already on second and third generations by 1910. Many Irish had helped the Western expansion well before that.

But to your point, did the mass migration of those people not lead to higher poverty rates, which were breeding grounds for disease and crime?

I expect everybody smelled a little funny in 1910.

And I hear that we weren't welcomed here

That’s around the same time most of my ancestors came from Germany

They came here, learned English quickly, built beautiful churches and Cathedrals. Beautiful architecture and contributed to the communities. They kept a few customs and cuisines, but became Americans quickly. The first and second generations that came here even went to war against their country of origin.

Irving and Las Colinas just as bad.

I wonder how many of these folks are here on H1B that could easily be replaced by the native population.

This reminds me of a thread from the OT a while back complimenting Indians on being one of the few cultures in America who still produce ornate architecture and nod brutalist or modern designs.

Stop letting them tell you we have to settle for lifeless modern architecture

Once pajeets seed themselves everywhere, they'll scatter-frick humanity out of existence. Humanity will become what Agent Smith said we would be - a virus that eats up the world until everything crashes.

It is how the world will end.

Just got back from Niagara Falls. I was shocked to find the majority for that area seemed to be Indian people.

The Indian discussion is weird because I thought for a while we were getting the top 1%. I got my heart ripped out by an Indian girl, so I knew the culture pretty well a few decades ago. They reminded me a lot of the Jewish community -- just very successful, people you would want to live around, a positive for your community and this country. It seemed like every one was a physician or engineer. But, the H1B issue has kind of changed the game -- do we really need masses of them to fill tech jobs that Americans either can't do or Indians do better? I have a hard time believing that. I also don't know if turning our communities into little Mumbai now with thousands of people who are probably not their best and brightest is a great idea.
