They've had the USA protecting their asses for 80 years, thus allowing them to put more $$$ into their social welfare programs. Programs that are not being systematically defrauded by "migrants" (who constitute very small percentages of their population). They also have very homogeneous populations.
So, it's easy to be "content"

I’ve been in accounting for 30+ years and have never been paid to do a tax return. If you limit it to public accountants, you would be correct, though the larger firms are usually split between full time auditors and full time tax professionals with the audit side typically bigger. Beyond that, there are far more corporate accountants and other types than there are accountants in public accounting.
Again, this doesn’t change the premise of Bard’s statement as there would still be a lot of accountants scrambling for work.

The worst thing they ever did, and it was on purpose, was to take taxes automatically out of paychecks.
If they waited for the end of the year and gave one tax bill, or even quarterly like us small business owners, there would be revolts nationwide.
Most people don’t notice it and think of a tax refund as a bonus. Make it a yearly bill and see the lemmings go crazy.
But in the meantime you are correct every single person should pay income taxes if we’re going to have it

How about a Flat 15% across the board and do away with some of these Business Tax Breaks. Want everyone to pay their fair share. How about we all pay the same % regardless of how much we make?

I think it might be you that needs to lay off the drugs.
I didn't say rich people don't need to spend money when they want to cut back. I am saying if you are making 200k a year or even 2 million a year. You have the ability to only spend the same amount of money as a poor person. When you are living paycheck to paycheck you don't have any way to cut back.
So the rich guy spends 200k a year. The poor person spends 30K a year. Next year the rich guy can only spend 30k a year also.
Hypothetical but the point stands. If the rich guy cuts back to 100K that can affect the when enough people start cutting back and saving instead of spending what they normally spend.
