Income taxes should be higher.

The 50% of the country that effectively pays nothing should pay at least 15%.
Our tax system is FAR more progressive than Europe’s, where almost everybody pays something.

The entire income tax structure of America needs to be erased and replaced with a single tax: the land value tax (Georgist tax)

If you don't count payroll taxes you could say they pay nothing. It's essentially 12.4% (I know half is the employer match but some people consider both being paid by the employee because the employer would pay them more if not for the employee match)

When the Dems worship Norway, Sweden and Denmark, they don't understand that the top marginal rates are not significantly higher than ours, but that they are applied to a much lower income bracket (like $80k+) and they make their money via everyone paying in...

We should lower all tax percentages in every bracket and then add a national sales tax.
The sales tax should be higher on luxury goods and things like junk food and vices and lower on necessities, healthy food, and supplies and equipment for businesses.

I’ve always believed that everyone should pay something. Romney was on to something in 2012 when he got quoted complaining that half the country paid nothing in income tax. But the media crucified him over it, and being the wimp that he is he totally caved. Should have stood his ground.
