I’ll be investing, though isn’t it a tax write off for everyone else? Genuine question, because that was talked about earlier.

No man. I paid my 2019 taxes. You are correct, I should have said last year. I've only paid 2.5 months of taxes this year. My point is I don't need any government money.

Send out a $1000 dollar credit card that can be used for anything but must be used within 30 days or it expires. Simple

What I want to know is are the income limits based on 2018 income or 2019 income?

No one can answer me why people who are unemployed/on welfare deserve anything extra. they aren't paying in and there hasn't been any disruption in the welfare payouts, right?

Too many will read this and think you should feel "lucky" to be able to make the money to have that tax bill. They are ignorant of the responsibilities that come with earning higher incomes. shite always gets under my skin...

but the upper middle class gets nothing?

I would consider 150k household income above “upper middle class”

We considered ourselves upper middle class with a family salary well under 100k

So welfare recipients, kids, and those that barely contribute via tax dollars will get $1000 of my money, meanwhile i still have to pay 25-30% of what i earn to the fedgov?

It doesn't really matter what you consider yourselves. "upper-middle class" is a defined category, although loosely.

If this is in fact the deal, my business and my family are getting double fricked on this deal.

Does it really surprise anyone that those who buy the votes and those whose votes are most easily bought are the ones that will benefit from this?

That's how it always is and that's how it will always be.

I'm as conservative as they come, and I'm definitely going to get left out of the payment. For the first time ever though, I'm actually okay with this direct payment. Through no fault of their own, millions of service workers have suddenly been thrown into unemployment, primarily because their government has taken a sledge hammer to kill a mosquito. They also have no way to find other service jobs as they all have been shutdown.

I've never supported a direct payment like this, but this time, I do. Sadly, it probably won't be enough for these people, but hopefully it will help some.

What our government has done to the lives of people like these, as well as the owners of businesses mandated to shut down is almost criminal. Anything to help them is okay by me.

Yeah all these hospitality workers who at max make 60k a year so that people don’t have to pay outrageous when they dine out certainly don’t deserve anything at all even though they were completely blind sided by the government and their employers encouraged to shut down their operations.

You guys pay so much more in taxes and have higher bills so yeah therefore you deserve money. And frick small business right? They knew the risk. They should have just been smarter.

And all those cooks who moved to live in cities like Nola to learn their craft and have high living expenses bc rent is ridiculously high. frick them even though they contribute tons to your city and state and make places like Nola premiere dining metros in the world. frick those guys.

I'm upper middle class and I'm po! I need my check! Life ain't fair! Listen fart sack, I've made millions and didn't need or desire "A Check" and now I'm retired except for a small consulting thing and I still don't need or beg for "A CHECK". Although my reduced retirement income would qualify me if the numbers you put up are legit. But I see people out here who work every day and have children and yeah they need help at this time. So stop with the tittie baby whine.

Calm down, comrade. No one said that those with lower income shouldn't receive anything.

But people who run small businesses, the engines of our economy, should receive a benefit, too-how about a payroll tax break? How about some money back in our pockets for keeping on paying our employees through this mess even though our income streams are dwindling?

Why is it the ones who pay the most in (many large corporations pay very little tax) always get the least benefit?

That’s a good question.
