She has a college degree, there is a debate as to whether she was really a true economics major. Completely fair point. But this situation certainly comes with some qualifiers.
Is it highly doubtful that AOC would've been content with being a bartender. If so, why did she bother finishing (or even attending) college?
From what I know about her, it's fairly obvious that she is a very idealistic person who surely would understand that bartending isn't exactly the type of professional experience that would advance you very far up either the private or public-sector ladder.
Her jump from bartender to congresswoman was an utter anomaly. You can't tell me that she planned it out like that.
So the question remains...why was she bartending?

For you younger folks. Back in the day (1960s from my first hand experience) college departments were VERY wary about who walked out with a degree from them. Granting a biology degree to a person who couldn't identify a vagina from a clam = a walking advertisement that your biology dept wasn't worth crap.
