Their last show anywhere was at One Eye Jacks in New Orleans during NBA All Star Weekend years ago
quote:

Year one was Jrue, Lonzo, BI, Zion, non-washed Favors with a still hot Reddick as sixth man and Hart as your 7th.

You can not tell me with a straight face, if we are speaking exclusively about players outside Zion/Bi, that you wouldn't take the equivalent of those players from that season, today, over the group we have today.

With a healthy year three Zion that would be a top 5 seed at worse. While I think even healthy you are talking about this team as play-in material at it's peak.

Sounds like you think Griff put together a quality roster in year 1
quote:

Steph and Klay combined salary: 82 million dollars

Zion and Bi combined salary: 39 million dollars.

The excuse making falls entirely apart the moment you do even the most superficial of investigations into either situation.

So I’m not sure it’s really worth debating this bc I assume most reasonable people agree at this point that Griffin has done a poor job rebuilding this team. But this whole talking point you seem to inject into every thread about the salary comparison for each teams best players seems unfair. Teams like Lakers, Warriors and even Philly to a degree are glamour markers that can actually sign free agents. Moreover, they can sign them on vet minimum deals for ring chasing purposes. We can’t do that at all. So let’s not pretend Griff failures (of which there are many) really includes not signing the right free agents. We all know we need to do this exclusively thru the draft and trade market. Seems pretty silly to act like lakers are managing their roster better by having more bench depth than we do with less money to spend on it.
quote:

Which was/is what makes the vitriol toward JJ so absurd to me. He hates Griff, and guess what? Most of this fanbase hates Griff too.

This is pretty naive man. It may be true that he only hates Griff. But he nuked the organization's reputation on the way out at a time when our perception around the league due to Zion was/is super vulnerable and low to begin with. While he has the right to do it, let's not pretend like he didn't know how uniquely situated we are as an organization to suffer from this type of PR/reputation hit. It's not just Griff who suffers from what he said.
quote:

It’s good to see Hayes and this staff see what I see in terms of what direction to develop as a offensive player

They finally read your letters!!!!!!
quote:

I genuinely hate this time of the year because people around here are so incapable of seeing reality

Man I totally respect the substance of your opinions on here but you are legit obnoxious right now. We get it that you’re one of the few NBA educated posters on here. But you’re killing us with these broken record “this time of year on this board” stuff. We get it

here's to hoping his bubble performance wasn't a fluke.

He was awesome in the playoffs this year. Not the bubble.
Baton Rouge General just released a statement this morning that they’re up to 118 covid patients. A month ago they had 10. The peak was 169 in late April 2020. As of now, 44% of their covid patients are in the ICU. 35% are under 50 years old. 92% are unvaccinated. They’re opening up a 4th new Covid unit since this surge. But by all means stay young healthy and unvaccinated.

Maybe if they hadn't made the vaccine political back when it was being worked on under Trump's presidency (which, I was still never planning to rush out and get because lazy), it wouldn't be such a political disaster now. But they did this to themselves.

Yes your anti covid vac stance is totally not political
at all.

quote:

It would be one thing if that was your actual position this whole time, but instead you’ve been justifying it by throwing out a bunch of Aunt Gladys forwarded email pseudoscience talking points and bull shite about the “messaging.”

Yep. It’s amazing the hoops they will jump thru to claim it’s not about pure politics for them. Find me one board certified primary care physician who recommends not getting the covid vaccine if you’re “young and healthy.” And Dr. Joe Rogan doesn’t count.
quote:

know many of you have memory holed the past year and a half, but the vaccine was specifically intended for elderly and high risk people initially. And only as politics shifted did people totally erase that from their memories and make it a general population thing.

There is literally no truth to these 2 sentences. This is basically the garbage our grandmothers are sharing on Facebook.
quote:

Pre-covid, nobody would have never asked someone else a question like this. Nobody went around asking me if I got the Gardasil when it came out. Nobody went around asking strangers if they're vaccinated for the flu.

This is so backwards. Colleges, including Trumpy LSU, literally require you to provide proof of multiple vaccinations and have done so for years. Everyone accepts those without controversy. But because of Trumpy politics the COVID vaccine has been segregated for other vaccines.
quote:

People will say that it is because the vaccine isn't approve, they are healthy and won't get too sick, it isn't worth the risk....

All of those have counterarguments that prove they don't really believe in those ideals. Mostly, it seems like people don't want to trust something they haven't seen work. But they won't reveal some timeline barrier that will make them change their mind.

It's way simpler than that. It's pure politics, at least for the anti-vaxers who post on here. If Trump had advocated wearing masks and vaccinations, they would be all about it. They just don't want the liberals to be right. This board, and most of the others on here, are all just slightly watered down versions of the Politics Board, which is one big Trump Rally echo chamber.
