will witness in the midterms: a large number of traditional right leaning independents staying home.
As a former independent, I'm more than happy to tell you that if you think a party is evil, and you do nothing to keep them out of the power seat... That you are every bit responsible for the evil they commit.
If you fight against evil, you have a say.
If you sit back complacent, stfu, do-nothing.

Very good.

I think you have the democrats figured out but you are confused about Satan. In the Bible, the only place where he kills and destroys is in the book of Job, where Yahweh God permits Satan to do it, based on a bet that God makes with Satan. In the rest of the Bible, it is always God who kills babies and commits genocide, not Satan.

Many of my posts are strong responses to the occasional extremes and nonsense I see here. So you’ve projected a political philosophy for me that’s not accurate or complete…
Exactly as you type ... your posts project a political philosophy, not me.

As an 18 year old, even 21, I was a hardcore Democrat and Socialist in the later 1970's.
But by the time I became 23, I had taken a job out of state, left Louisiana.
By the time I was 25, I had married, bought a house, and was waiting on baby number 1 from my wife, a native Texan, also Mexican-American and surprisingly for me at the time a lifetime Republican. Amazing how I slowly realized by that age, how life changes everything. You start to see life from a family perspective and taxes raised it's ugly head. When you begin to put your own life and family first, also a hard job with long hours, you start to question why should I help people who don't have the same work mentality that I do? Needless to say, the conservative side started coming out in me and over time, I completely abandoned the Democrat Party.

What did I say that insulted veterans? You literally posted about how great it was to save a bunch of money while you worked for the government and the government provided you with free housing, free healthcare and a stipend. Oh and free education and a subsidized mortgage. That’s what you posted.

If it wasn’t for Rush Limbaugh and my grandpa listening to him all the time I might have been a liberal or not been as hardcore right wing conservative as I turned out to be.

Take a typical middle-class family in 1976 and consider the house they lived in - its size and features, the cars they drove - their comfort, safety, and reliability, the food they ate - variety and convenience, their entertainment - variety and accessibility, their medical care - its capabilities and effectiveness, and their safety and security - violent crime, burglary, and other property crime rates.
Now compare all of that with a typical middle-class family today. There’s no way today’s family would choose a single one of those things from 1975 over what they have today.
That’s what a higher standard of living looks like.

Boomers grew up in a time when inflation was very low and housing prices were very affordable almost every state
Early 1970s had "Whip Inflation Now" and late 1970s had stagflation.
1980s had double digit mortgage interest rates.

if you are 25 and not a liberal you have no heart but if you are 35 and not a conservative, you have no brain

And have they changed at all over time?
I remember being of the mind 'If you're not doing anything illegal, why would you care what the Gov't knows'. to far more 'It's none of their damn business what I do'. - provided I'm not denying anyone of their rights or depriving them of their property. I guess libertarian sort of stuff, but not the LP version, more of a Jefferson variety.
Much more pro - life, lower taxes, and shrinking of government.

Same here.
Made sure they watched current events and never pushed my agenda. One made it through a public university and one through a community college with a technical degree.
God and a good upbringing by a two parent household paid off.
I’ve done my part and rest easy. I still do my part with equipping them for troubling times that may come.

You are equating a bureaucratic federal worker with that of a military service member.
They are not the same.
Were those workers unaware that the GI Bill only applied to veterans.
You really do suck as a person.
