agreed - everyone with a conscience should condemn this unconstitutional use of the Justice System to badger a US citizen.
We should not tolerate this if they were doing it to a know mafia don.

Deep down, Desantis knows he needs TRUMP....

Ron will not get into TRUMP bashing, it can only hurt him long term.

If DeSantis navigates this challenge well with a deft hand, he could really use it to his advantage.

I hope to see his political skill at play here in the coming months.

I will be critical of RDS if he doesn't come out against this prosecution.

Otherwise he's showing as much ego and emotional thinking as Trump, which is a major weakness.

Let’s apply the Trump Test: Would you vote for DeSantis if he’s the nominee?

Desantis cant win without that base. You know it, I know it and the tribute band knows it

But the TDS will get in the way and Desantis will get crushed. Then you will be back to blaming Trump yet again

that is how you show statesmanship and dedication to principle - just don't engage in the trivial gotcha stuff = he'll be fine.

Since the day President Nero started running his frickin' mouth, Desantis has quietly and wisely kept his mouth shut, allowing Trump to look typically assholish and petulant.

No reason for that to stop now.

You're going to have to get over your dislike of OnlyTrump and hold your nose. It doesn't matter what they say.

Aside from the practical reality of the situation, there is a crucial issue at play here that is critical to a lot of people.

That is what is important. Everything else...your hatred of Trump and Trump voters, their hatred of DeSantis and DeSantis fans...that's all noise. It's emotion.

Why should DeSantis defend Trump who has spent the last couple of months insulting him, his wife, and even calling him a groomer just because of Trump paying off some porn whore he fricked.

You are delusional.

For those who say screw it, I don't want DeSantis to say anything about it because Trump said mean things about DeSantis and I hate Trump...fine. But DeSantis will lose. Because the fact is he cannot win without winning Trump voters.

This is true regardless of what he says. And so far, he’s turned someone who really liked him (me) into someone who will vote for anyone but him. Call it vindictive, I don’t care. But I’m sure at least 10% of Trump voters feel the same way. And he can’t win without them.

If RDS beats Trump in the primary, why would that base not support RDS?

Sure, but that would be a political Jonestown scenario. Why would that base be that stupid and emotional?

It's not about defending Trump.

It's about standing up against the weaponization of justice systems to destroy political opposition.

Even Pence sees it. Ron has to do what's right.

He will condemn it eventually. The longer he waits though, the more damaging it will be.

You’re the one who wants to renominate the only Republican who can (and already has) lose to Biden. Pretty sure that’s what’ll give the Dems the best shot at having lifetime control. Then when Trump loses you’ll want him to run again in 2028. Heck, you probably want losers like Mastriano or Oz, Kari Lake, and John Gibbs to win their respective nominations for Senate.

There's a real possibility Trump won the 2020 election by a lot but it's going to be difficult to prove that now.....so much of the election rigging/shenanigans evidence of 2020 has been destroyed.

Might be warranted if Ron is the nominee because the loser has been lying about DeSantis in every statement he has made, and no doubt there will be some true believers who will believe every word and not vote for him.

He sabotaged Republicans during the GA runoffs and helped cost them their seats, so it wouldn’t be the first time he helped Republicans lose.

Because that's what they are. They've convinced themselves Ron is a WEF puppet and are just going to burn it all down if Trump is not the candidate. I'm fine with that. Just don't get mad when we will have to deal with another Dem administration.
