He might. Republicans are stupid enough to make that happen. But, that won't be my problem. I don't live my life in a way that is significantly impacted by who is in the White House.

Yea.

I'm at that point. frick it. If people want to nominate Trump just to lose the 24 General Election, then go for it.

I'm insulated enough that I can handle the bullshite of another 4 years of an idiot Democrat than most, so I'll be fine wither way.

I think Republican politicians earned a lot of that skepticism, caution, and in some cases outright animosity.

Compared to Democrats?

Other than an apocalypse fetish, what is gained by supporting DEM victory?

Trump expects loyalty from everyone but gives it to no one. After how badly he threw Pence under the bus during the whole Jan 6 protests, why would anyone put their credibility on the line to defend him? Pence was extremely loyal to Trump all the way through, even when all of the establishment abandoned him after the Access Hollywood tape, Pence stood by him. But just because Pence said that he couldn't change the results of the election (which was TRUE), he tossed him away like a used sock.

Trump cannot truly expect any serious person to (figuratively) fight for him and certainly not Desantis, after how he's treated him.

He alienates anyone who could help him and he's utterly incapable of making political allies that matter.

All of his political allies are embittered losers or who by their own association with him have lost all credibility.

Rudy Giuliani, who by rights should go down as the Greatest Mayor in modern New York history and the guy who engineered the utter destruction of Italian organized crime in the United States, will instead be forgotten and remembered for his involvement with an a-hole, one term President with a bad haircut.

fricking sad what happened to Giuliani. Why the frick would Ron Desantis hitch his wagon to the load that is Donald Trump?

When you make a little more money it might matter to you. Taxes are all that really matters.

You disappeared from the board for years.

Did you embarrass yourself on some other board during that hiatus?

This is a nice pre-melt. Lol if you don't think DeSantis will eventually say something about this.

There is no melting, just a discussion of an important point in this coming election cycle and what may hurt or help a candidate. I'll leave the melting, swearing, anger, and venting to others. There's plenty of it to go around, including in this thread.

I don't know for sure if DeSantis will say something about it and if he does, when. I hope he does and soon. I think he's smart enough politically to do so therefore I'm inclined to believe he will.

But the notion that this will not be an important issue in the coming election is incredibly absurd. Even if DeSantis makes a statement condemning the prosecution and eventually wins the nomination, the media will ask him continuously about Trump and his legal actions. It will be covered in debates. DeSantis has a challenge in how he handles this tricky and crucial aspect of the coming election, not just in the primary but in the general.

This whole thing is a fund-raising grift from Trump (imagine that) and Ron once again is absolutely correct to stay silent on this.

Tuesday is going to pass with no arrest, no indictment. And the MAGAts will still be saying Ron was wrong in...

...not condemning something that didn't happen.

Some day when you have real wealth (I really hope this happens for you), taxes will be less of a concern. Keep at it, bud.

Lake should've tried for Wisconsin governor instead. She'd have lost still, but at least she'd have something tangible to whine about.

the estate tax is a HUGE concern for anyone with “real wealth”. Anyone with “real wealth” is very very aware of that.

Are we really pretending that’s the only information on this?

Business Insider says they still have a witness to interview.

I'd wait until it actually happens.

The people calling for DeSantis to speak have been the paid influencers on social media and the idiots that take their word as gospel

Just fricking lol at you for ever thinking that.
