Yep, had my first official one over a week ago and shared it here.

When I realized how much of my info she had, I lied my arse off. Her giddiness at my "support for radical democrats" was apparent.

everyone should try to take polls. Yes they are annoying, but it's a very important way to get your opinion heard. Taking a survey counts 10000000x more than posting on a message board in terms of having an actual effect.

I agree.

The live 2016 exit polling was like this. They were seeing massive numbers of voters who refused to talk to them.

Especially the subjective questions where the respondent can freely answer with their own words. Word or term use frequencies trigger a lot more decision making than people realize.

you were the target of a "push" poll

i had a few last year during the Louisiana election....

they started off straight forward.... then i got questions like "if you new that XXXXX was accepting money from XXXXX would that change your vote...."

or "If you knew XXXX voted against XXXX, would you change your vote..."

at that point i stopped answering and called them out on the Push poll.....

It's called 'push polling'. They don't care about your opinion. They are selling their candidate by spreading negative info about the opponent.

My favorite candidate of all time was Warren J. 'Puggy' Moity. His technique on TV ads in the 60s:

'Puggy ain't gonna tell you bout my opponent's colored girl friend. I ain't gonna tell you bout the money he embezzled from the church. Why ain't I gonna tell ya? Because Ole Puggy don't believe in no dirty politickin'. I sticks to the issues.'

I’m not going to discuss my politics with a rep from the leftist propaganda wing, and leave them with enough info to harass my employer. No.

Can you imagine the exponential increase in this happening should Trump win?

Id be curious to do a poll that asks your full name and another with the same questions except anonymous. Just ask “are you a registered voter and are you likely to vote”

I've never been called before, but if I do I'm just telling them that "I like Ike."

The total bullshite my 89 year old Dad feeds the pollsters when they call is a work of art. This board would love it.

I asked this board a decade ago if they thought the Professional Left would begin to doxx Conservatives via voting records, polls, personal conversations, political contributions, old associations and memberships, old photos, internet histories, etc. and I was told " you are a Right wing lunatic, Pimp". So clearly we should continue to speak honestly and openly to strangers on the phone because The Left that controls our culture would never do anything to hurt us.

I'm actually beginning to worry about TD. And this is coming from a guy who was on DU a lot during Bush/Cheney.

I especially enjoyed the gender question. Are you male, female, or other?

I will gladly answer their questions. My fee is $250/an hour paid in advance. I have a 1 hour minimum during business hours a 1.5 hour minimum after hours. This goes for anyone else wanting to do business by cold calling me.

This, in addition to straight up bias, is an excellent example of why these polls are becoming less accurate. Conservatives are less likely to participate or provide accurate response due to real or perceived threat.

I was a bit skeptical of this theory for the most part. While I believed some answered falsely to stay safe, I figured the number was exaggerated. Now I see it clearly, and I believe a significant number of people are doing it.

Polls are being used to demoralize you. Do whatever you want on polls. Just go vote (and get your Conservative relatives and Friends to vote) in November.
