Dershowitz isn’t asking you to believe or trust him. His argument is that if cameras were allowed in the courtroom, then we could all see for ourselves.
Only one side thinks you should only be able to see their version of events. I’m sorry if I’m going to side with the one that is promoting more transparency.

I know your question is rhetorical, but it's not for the reason you think. New York law forbids cameras in the courtroom. Been the law there for almost 100 years. They experimented with cameras in the courtroom for 10 years in the 80s and 90s, but when that law expired it was not renewed.
FTR, two Democratic State Senators introduced a bill in 2023 to allow cameras in courtrooms in advance of the Trump trials. The bill keeps passing in the Senate and dying in Assembly. Both houses are dominated by the Democratic party.
