This is the biggest nothing burgers of all nothing burgers. I feel that how you respond to this is a good barometer for how I should treat everything you say about Trump. If you are offended by this, then I can just assume that nothing Trump will ever do will meet your standard.

ETA: Trump has said/done a lot of things to legitimately be upset about. This is not one of those things.

I imagine, based on these responses/framing, your goal is not to maximize depurations by ICE. That discussion is for another thread, however.

No, my goal is to not give in to toddler's throwing tantrums, because in my experience, that just leads to more tantrums. I guarantee that if they see the blueprint is to overwhelm ICE with protests, that they will multiple those efforts across multiple cities. And yes there are several "red" states that will be much more agreeable to work with, but even in those "red" states there are "blue" cities that will still add a layer of difficulty if they have the cover of protests.

But I'm not as smart as you, so I'm probably wrong and they would just take their win in MN and stop there.

My only comment about a "solution" to localities making these (legal) choices was ITT and is below:

Are you denying that you've ever said (not in this thread but others) that ICE should focus their efforts on states/localities that are working with them and pull out of states/localities that are resisting?
My straw man alludes to this comment that you’ve made in several threads.

Were there mass protests/riots/aggression towards ICE in Minneapolis prior to the admin announcement of the largest ICE operation ever? Did the mass protests/riots/aggression towards ICE increase or decrease after that announcement?

So, your solution is to give in to the toddler throwing a tantrum? I’m sure they wouldn’t pivot their protests and riots to the next city after they see that tantrums work.

Well, we know they have no problem with releasing known criminals, so he doesn’t have to explicitly say it.

Compliance with immigration detainers is voluntary, not mandatory. The federal government cannot force local jurisdictions to honor detainers, an interpretation repeatedly upheld by the courts.

Then don’t bitch when the federal government enforces it instead.

It’s not the job of local officials to enforce federal immigration law…

Is it the job of local offices to interfere with the enforcement of immigration laws?
I’m not sure, but I think it can’t be considered an insurrection until at least one podium is moved.

I hope I never see this Georgia bark at my boss commercial ever again.

Between that one and the DoorDash commercial, Georgia should consider firing whoever is responsible for approving the use of their trademarks.

because the existing programs that depend on that money - whether your or i agree with it or if it's a good use of money or not - will suddenly be sol and thousands of kids depend on it. as usual, no contingency plan in place. kids will suffer. lots of parents rely on daycare to be able to work, the vast majority who use legit, hardworking daycare services

Then you should be pissed at the people cheating the system and not the people wanting to hold them accountable.

Texans?
Go back and see how the media reacted to both Saban leaving the Dolphins for Bama and Petrino leaving the Falcons for Arkansas. They went scorched earth on those two as well... surprisingly all was forgotten after both started winning. I have a feeling this will end up the same way.

Now, I expect Ole Miss tohold a forever grudge. But that's to be expected and is completely understandable.
On a day where most people reflect on life and are giving thanks for the good and precious things they have been blessed with, the fact you felt the need to post this says more about you than it does about anyone else.

TV said there was no clear camera view to overturn. I call BS.

How do you not have cameras facing both directions in the goal line?

I agree that it’s a stupid fricking rule. But it’s the rule, so call the fricking penalty like you have on us all season.
If they made the opposing party actually do the work of filibustering, it wouldn’t go on for as long as it does. The fact they can just say filibuster then go home (or on a trip) is the problem. I think that if you’re going to vote no on ending debate, then you need to stay and debate.

I'm not a Democrat, but I call a spade a spade. This board would be losing their minds if these massive job losses were happening with a Democrat in office. But since Trump is in office it's no big deal, just trimming a little fat.

I searched your entire 10 post history and see no times where you called a Democrat spade a spade.

If you make a big decision to do a $53M buyout then you have to make a big splash hire. Makes zero sense to do a $53M buyout to prioritize a G5 coach. They need to go after big fish first.

I would argue that needing to “make a big splash” is what got us Kelly.
