As it should be. But here's the difference - the CDC and Fauci didn't work for DeSantis. They worked for Trump, and that's how Trump is uniquely accountable for all things Covid. Anything you want to criticize DeSantis for, which I don't have a problem with - but understand that every single mistake/overreach DeSantis made was him responding to the guidance of Trump, and the dishonest/fake "emergency" circumstances created by Trump's administration.

The point is States were given leeway to run how they chose. Hutchinson did same shite in Arkansas. Failed to let people live their own lives.

MOST people (Trump AND DeSantis included), believed that Fauci was trying to actually solve the problem.
THEY thought that the restrictions were reasonable.

But Fauci didn't work for DeSantis or "most people" - he worked for Trump, and Trump should have known that Fauci/Team was the politically-driven actors they were. Only a retard would have thought it was reasonable to shut the country down for a virus that had not proven itself to be super duper scary, and in fact had a trail of evidence of not being super duper scary. This is bullshite. There was a lot of discussion on this board about Covid/response in real time, and it wasn't just "very few" that did not unquestioningly accept everything fed them by Team Trump and CNN. And there was quite a few of us that actually saw through the bullshite immediately.

That's not all you missed.
He didn't "choose" Fauci, he created a task force and appointed him to it, and on paper he was the most qualified, having been director of the NIAID since fuggin 1984. Pence was the chair of the task force, so that's whom Trump chose. Ben Carson and a dozen or so others were as well. I don't know who pushed Fauci to the front but, on paper, he was the most qualified. He's just dishonest.
Also, and many of you need to get this through your thick, misshapen skulls: TRUMP COULDN'T FIRE FAUCI.
Besides the political suicide of it and the Dems threatening to impeach him if he tried, Fauci couldn't be simply "fired." He has rights, and while you could probably eventually get them all removed and establish that he should be fired for cause, that would've taken YEARS.
You can like Ron, but liking Ron and being stupid at the same time does no one any good.

Fair enough but it goes both ways. I hear people bitching about Trump lockdowns when Trump never did but Ron did. They mock Trump's losing endorsements then reeee when Trump shows Ron made many losing endorsements as well, many times the same candidates.
If we can stick to the facts then we'll all be better off for it. It doesn't persuade anyone to accuse them of things they know aren't true.

There were plenty. And not just in August, but the early months (Mar-Apr). There were some good discussions on this board. Covid is what got me started posting on this site.
