I have a question about boycotting entertainers.

If an entertainer you like attended a function or performed at the invitation of:
1. Barack Obama
2. Hillary Clinton
3. Joe Biden
4. Kamala Harris
5. Nancy Pelosi
6. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (often called AOC)
7. Bernie Sanders
8. Gavin Newsom
Would that change the way you see that person?
If you are a fan of that entertainer would you continue,to listen to his/her music, movies, etc?
1. Barack Obama
2. Hillary Clinton
3. Joe Biden
4. Kamala Harris
5. Nancy Pelosi
6. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (often called AOC)
7. Bernie Sanders
8. Gavin Newsom
Would that change the way you see that person?

No. A gig is a gig is a gig, and playing for the POTUS is an honor no matter who holds the office.
On the flip side, if they’re actively out fundraising for and evangelizing on behalf of a candidate, that’ll be a major turnoff that might dissuade me from buying a ticket to see them live.
For example, I love The Wonder Years music. I know that they are hard left politically, but their singer took 5 plus minutes out of a 30 minute set just to talk about ICE. Definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

Swearing fealty to the democratic machine is virtually a requirement for any kind of success in entertainment. Boycotting them for toeing the line of the DnC would be like boycotting your local cleaners because they pay the mob for “protection” every month.

Entertaining for a leftist politician isn’t a bad thing. They’re entertainers.
Telling me what I should and shouldn’t believe is a bad thing, and I’ll boycott an entertainer who does that.
That’s not a one-way thing either. If I want to see Kid Rock (I don’t) and I hear he spends significant time spouting off about politics, I won’t waste my money.

1) Do you remember a few weeks ago when the New York Giants QB introduced President Trump at a rally? That guy caught Holy Hell for simply introducing Trump. That doesn't happen to Lefties when they do something similar.
2) At least 90% of the time it's the intolerant Left who engage in Cancel Culture. People like Sally Field, De Niro, Jennifer Anniston, etc. can say whatever they want and not have to worry about being blacklisted.
But, somebody like James Woods? Totally different story.

I normally wouldn’t boycott someone who campaigns for someone or something I don’t like.
In the other hand, if someone starts promoting things I do like, I’ll give them more attention.

I once liked about every movie Di Nero was in. Now, I won’t watch anything he’s done if I run across it on TV.
