The right had a responsibility to defend the nation from even worse candidates and failed.
They told you the path forward. Believe them.

I think you're right that this is lashing out more than ideology.
But, it represents some very real, very discouraging things, all the same.
There isn't really a realistic roadmap to putting the country back together in a way that isn't purely connected by economic vitality. And the more we unite around that as the sole driving thing, the worse it gets for a bunch of other stuff that relates to quality of life, purpose, other thick bonds a nation needs.
Even accounting for nostalgia, I think it's a very fair, close-to-undeniable thing to say that the America many of us grew up in is definitively gone. But that doesn't have too much to do with tonight, mind you.

Biden's base isnt anywhere close to what Trump commands.
Obama, Pelosi and Clinton commanded more influence than Biden so they forced him out
Theres no conservative anywhere near Trump's power or influence. Trump may even attempt to sabotage the 2028 candidate if this isnt handled right

This is not. What he needs to do is admit he was wrong and undo the stupidity he did that pissed people off while staying in place to prevent the extreme stupidity the democrats are going to feel emboldened to push with this bloodbath.
Yes. Trump can still serve a functional purpose.
He may be an arse but he is still the president and is not powerless. The danger here is he continues his self absorbed idiocy and gives the dems an easy path to the executive branch. Which is exactly what I expect to happen.

For the betterment of the country and for actual conservatives to start repairing the damage.

Democrats in 2024 pressured the hell out of Biden when it was clear to the country that he lost a step and with months to go before the election he stepped out of the race. I just do not possess enough imagination to ever see Donald Trump consider something similar.

Trump is incapable of reflection, otherwise he would've done so by now and shifted course.
It was clear by early summer that Democrats blue wave was building was real , in a 2026 midterms where they had 0 chance to win before.
He didnt believe the polls, so all Trump did was double down and promise $5000 checks.
Did you see his rallies this month? It was terrible and mightve hurt the GOP

Democrats took the majority. Are you colorblind?
Because independents voted against anything touching Trump, and most of the right stayed home

The country is blue now whether they want it or not. You can vote communism in, but you’ll have to shoot your way out.
No it’s not. That’s just freaking silly.
Are there socialist and weirdo Muslims on the fringe of then Democrat party - of course. But there are also facist and racists in the fringe of the Republican Party. And then there’s Trump who is just a narcissist who doesn’t believe in anything, but just spouts what he thought will get him elected for his own self aggrandizement.

Because this midterm was a referendum on Trump and the GOP got slaughtered. If he steps down, it at least gives the GOP a chance to regain momentum going into 2028. If he stays and keeps his current agenda, 2028 will give the democrats the presidency, house, and a filibuster proof majority in the senate.

There's a lot of lazy, sad sack republicans that would rather sit on their hands and let the water rush over their head just to claim moral high ground.
Congrats, now you flipped Texas blue and subjugated yourself indefinitely

Tell me what a fascist is.
I want to determine if I should take you seriously or not.
Hell explain what a racist is while you’re at it.
History is so damn full of this story. This country just refuses to learn.
