I don't mind sacrificing a few extra dollars every week when our boys at the front are sacrificing so much more. It's not like we are having to melt down our jewelry.

Can you articulate the benefit? I'm all for a cost/benefit analysis. The higher gas prices are the cost...what is the benefit?

Why are they sacrificing at “the front”? What is “the front”? Who are we at war with? Why? What are we trying to accomplish? Why is what we are trying to accomplish more important than consumer prices?

It would be cool to not have to sacrifice dollars at the pump AND our boys at the front not have to sacrifice anything at all. But that will get downvoted no doubt.

I’ve noticed people who complain about gas prices usually also smoke or drink or have other shitty habits.

I’ve never thought about gas prices. If an extra hundred or more dollars a month hurts you then cut back or improve your life

If the world was cool, and people would chill, and live and let live, and pay me for mines, all is swell.

This is a good point... unfortunately, other than making some record profits for the oil companies, I'm not sure I understand what it accomplishing for 'the boys'. Maybe not having them burrowed into Iranian soil (and that is enough).

But we aren't part of OPEC, yet our businesses' oil is tied to their output and the global market. This is one time I've supported the President putting pressure on oil executives. If were were completely divested, we shouldn't be experiencing much of an uptick. That inflated price ONLY benefits those companies, Iran and panicans... and is the reason Trump has to make such bombastic statements such as 'It's over' to minimize fear and uncertainty.

And I've noticed those that don't utilize propane in their trailer and the car in the front yard doesn't actually run.

But personal anecdotes aren't really worth shite. So.

I don't mind paying higher gas prices as long as it means the US is not dependent on countries that do not like us and do not have the US's best interest at hand.

This goes for paying more for everything as well.

Americans are addicted to cheap prices at the cost of their real freedom. Real freedom meaning US politicians that work for US the Americans citizens and not foreign countries that control the strings of the US economy.

Now are we getting this for the higher gas prices? I really don't know yet. But I 100% know we haven't and won't get it from any other US President past or future.

What? Our boys in Kuwait and in the PG are not getting 3 hots and a cot? Are the Navy boys missing dinner aboard the ships under the constant bombardment? What new are they sacrificing that they would not already be sacrificing?

If you want to pay increased prices at the pump under some misguided and foolish notion of some sort of collective sacrifice, so be it, but you sound like Democrats used to sound 10 years ago.

Haven't drank for 21 years and smoking is disgusting. Have no bad habits except maybe to much time on the internet.

I paid more than this in 2008 as a broke arse college kid, and that was batshit wild inflation, so it was actually significantly more.

People need to chill out about it. $4 a gallon in 2026 is not a big deal.

The stock market had one of the largest April gains in history. I made 10’s of thousands of dollars. And I’m sure many people on here made much more than that. I paid maybe an extra $50-100 in gas and electricity. I’ll take that trade off all day every day.

And people who only think its paying more at the pump are naive. It affects everything. Everything goes up.
