Slight hijack - I wonder how much it cost to have those signs printed They could have printed “escalator closed” on white copy paper & it would have served the same purpose
What’s goofier, is if you shut down an escalator, it becomes stairs.
So they barricade the shut down escalator to keep you from using it as stairs, then tell you to use the elevator.

When has hypocrisy ever bothered a leftist?

$160k is a drop in the bucket for NYC.
But the principle is should the public pay for such things?
A billionaire asking the public to pay for their private security is pretty on brand for how this country works

Fun Fact.... if your working security for Taylor Swift, and your in the inner perimeter.... there are no guns allowed

I now pronounce you mr and mrs swift.

Just go to Italy and rent a villa
Good luck conducting that with constant paparazzi helicopters.
If the public wasn't insane, insane measures wouldn't be needed.
Seems like only way to avoid the hassle and throw it among 15 people at their house and skip the "event" aspect entirely.
You are able to shut down Canal Street for like $500 which is sort of ridiculous
