I assume it's much like when Obama spoke.

Hey Commie Lover.....I listened to every word and came away knowing that this satanic Muslim will destroy New York. This dude is the antichrist...Even looks the part. A rapper, who has never held a real job...much like Obama, will burn the city to the ground. How you could hear anything more than lies, venom and hate, I don't know.

Most of the speech sounds like this:
ChatGPT bullshite for the masses.
quote:
A great New Yorker once said that while you campaign in poetry, you govern in prose. If that must be true, let the prose we write still rhyme and let us build a shining city for all. And we must chart a new path as bold as the one we have already traveled. After all, the conventional wisdom would tell you that I am far from the perfect candidate. I am young despite my best efforts to grow older. I am Muslim. I am a democratic socialist. And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this. And yet, if tonight teaches us anything, it is that convention has held us back. We have bowed at the altar of caution and we have paid a mighty price. Too many working people cannot recognize themselves in our party and too many among us have turned to the right for answers to why they've been left behind. We will leave mediocrity in our pasts. No longer will we have to open a history book for proof that Democrats can dare to be great.

What is the most meaningful real world experience/background of any of our recent crop of self-avowed Democrat-Socialist politicians?
Is there anyone out there with ANYTHING substantive prior?

I don't listen to MAZI's.. metro area socialists

There aren’t life-successful socialist politicians.
There are life-successful crony capitalists.

Cori Bush was almost an LPN.
AOC was a bartender.
Ayanna Presley hasn’t really had a job outside government.
Same with Rashida Tlaib.
Crockett chased ambulances for a hot minute before joining the government sweepstakes.
Ilhan Omar was a child nutritionist for a government agency for a few years before entering politics.

Clearly it resonated with you which is really not surprising

I’ll wait to see what he actually does.
I hear some pundits say he won't be able to make dramatic sudden changes. It may take a year or so to start seeing the shitty results.

Least surprising thing today.
Followed by Kiwi speaking about the speech in glowing terms.
These are the “tingle down my leg” Republicans.

Why would I want to listen to another dim communist talk?

I've seen many attacks on Mamdani's victory speech. Have any of you actually listened to his speech?
Tell me what you liked about it and I’ll respond.

Right. It wasn't the hateful screed that people who didn't watch it said. IF someone doesn't realize what a disaster Mamdani's policies would be, it was an excellent speech.

Yes, I listened to all of it. I did not like it AT ALL.
What's your point?

Are democratic socialist like Mamdani calling for the abolition of free markets?

It wasn’t some sort of kumbaya moment either.

I didn't like it. It wasn't written for me. I started the thread because people took the word of Van Jones that the speech was hateful. I didn't see how anyone who actually watched the speech could see it as hateful.
I think Ty Simpson is an excellent quarterback. It doesn't mean I am an Alabama fan.

Kiwi self immolated his penis along with all other adult males in New Zealand long ago when they surrendered virtually all self governance to the Maori. Now, they pretend to have lots of vigor by breaking into the Haka for no apparent reason while looking really stupid

Only in housing, healthcare and transportation right now.
And?

You're saying he is an attractive, well spoken candidate. By implication you're saying he is charismatic to the extent that he appears to be building a movement if not already built that movement. I think you are implicating he may be attractive across age demographics.
Trump is rough. He is not touchy-feely. He better do something or as the Speaker of the House said today. the democrats will take the house in 2026 and start impeachment proceedings on day one. And there are a lot of people out there who hate him and want him gone. In fact I had that conversation with my otherwise reasonable sister this weekend. So while ICE is busting down doors to arrest illegals, Mamdani types are winning over everybody not like you or the readers here. And there are more of them than you.
What exactly is Trump doing in and around Venezuela?
