quote:

1. 509 BCE: The year the Roman Republic was founded

2. 622 CE: The founding of Islam by the Prophet Muhammad

3. 1492 CE: Christopher Columbus makes landfall in what is now the Bahamas

4. 1760 CE: The beginning of the Industrial Revolution,

5. 1945 CE: The end of WWII

They need to bring back "I shouldn't be alive" starring Muslims, communists and leftists in America.

Exhibit A on why Islam is a fictional religion. 600 years after Christ died and rose and all of a sudden he appears to this pedophile? L O L

A fictitious religious Prophet from a fictitious religion, but no mention of the year 0 CE, and the true Prophet of 2/3's of the world population

I guess the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ that led to the founding of Christianity which completely changed the world and became the basis of morality in western civilization just isn’t important enough

He also gave honorable mention to the French Revolution, but nothing about the U.S. even though the American revolution inspired the French.

I checked into the author. He has no history degree or background. He is very active on blue sky as well.

There is a lot missing. It's silly to reduce such a list to 5. You'd have to get to at least 20 for it to be meaningful at all.

The founding of Islam is really important. It was the beginning of something that could take civilization down and be the end of humans

Our entire modern f*cking calendar is based on the founding of Christianity. And yet these stupid motherf*ckers think that the founding of Islam is more important.

The left and their media/entertainment apparatus hitching their wagon to the oppressive religion of a pedophilic warlord is one of the more fascinating developments of the last decade or so.

There was a book in the '80s called the 100 Most Important People In History or some such

It ranked Mo #1 and Jesus #3 (at least he was mentioned)

So the new testament is fine, but not a new new testament?

4. 1760 CE: The beginning of the Industrial Revolution,
5. 1945 CE: The end of WWII

1, 3, and 5 were historical events in that year.

4 is not a thing that happened in that particular year, because it was a continuum from the 1750s to the 1800s. There was no particular event that occurred in that year or 1760. Imagine if someone was like “yeah the golden years of LSU football began in 2000” even though we lost to UAB and sucked that year.

And 2… the only thing we know is that by the mid 640s, there were records that indicated there were Muslims existing in Arabia and that those Muslims believed their founder made a journey to Medina in 622. However, there are no documents from 622 and no contemporary non-Muslim documents that ever mention a dude named Muhammad. He might not have existed as a historical person. Shame on history.com for not applying the principles of proper historians.

What’s next? Is history.com going to publish that in 1738 a young George Washington chopped down his father’s cherry tree?
